Smiley from millan.net Today I have my final CHA project to show you. Graphic 45

sent the Design Team a brown bag and asked us to decorate it for the CHA Booth using The Magic of Oz Collection.  It was really cool to see them all hanging together in the booth!

I couldn’t help myself but use the Wicked Witch on one side.  “Something WICKED this way comes” keeps running through my head!

For this side, I used Black Soot Distress Ink to sponge the edges of all the paper, except the card which was sponged in Vintage Photo.  The border at the top was made with Spellbinders S7-013 Grand Scroll Borderabilities (which I think is retired  . . . I couldn’t find it on the Spellbinders site).  The flying monkeys were glued to purple cardstock, cut out and then mounted on foam tape to raise it up.

Here’s a close-up of the compass and the feet to that you can see all the Milled Lavender Distress Stickles.

For the other side, I used the Wizard when he leaves Dorothy stranded in the Land of Oz.  There are Peeled Paint Distress Stickles on the balloon and Scattered Straw to highlight Oz.

Of course, this is the part of the movie when Glenda comes to Dorothy’s rescue, telling her to tap her heals together.  Those are Christmas Red Distress Stickles on the shoes.

I have to admit that once I saw all the bags hanging in the Graphic 45 Booth, I was somewhat disappointed in my own work.  I could have done more and next time I will!  I wish I had kept the picture on my phone now.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of the day!

Good Tuesday morning.  I have one more CHA project to show you today . . . another for the Graphic 45 booth.  Before I get to that however . . . just a friendly reminder . . .

Part5BetterwithColor

Now for my last project.  It’s a Criss-Cross card made with Graphic 45 An ABC Primer.  The images and colors in this collection are outstanding and I really had a wonderful time working with it. Here the card all together like it would be when you send it out.

All the embellishments on the card are from An ABC Primer Chipboard Die-Cuts 1 and 2.  The ribbon is Graphic 45 Staples Trim.  The white ribbon was dyed with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

There is an insert to the card that has a Chipboard Die-Cuts tab.

and then the two pieces side-by-side.

Well, that just about wraps it up for today.  I’ve been working on my Distress Stain project, and I’m hoping to finish it up this afternoon.  (wishful thinking!)

Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of the day!  (of course, if my car wasn’t still in the shop I might be able to get out and find some adventures . . . yes, they had my car all last week too, told them I needed it yesterday when I dropped it off over a week ago. . . hmmmmmm)

Happy Monday!  I hope everyone had a good weekend.  Me?  I spent Sunday relaxing, watching movies and staying indoors away from the high temperatures.

I’ve a few more Graphic 45 CHA projects to show you and thought I would start with the Christmas wall hanging I did with the new Christmas Emporium paper.

SherryCheeverChristmasEmporium(4)

The background is made from several layers of printers’ chipboard glued together before it was covered with the Christmas Emporium paper.   The image of Santa is mounted on illustration board and the frame in the back is made from Spellbinders Labels Four.

SherryCheeverChristmasEmporiumCLOSEUPBOX(4)

The wooden box on the shelf is made from craft sticks and then some Christmas greenery was added for decoration.  The Maya Road star pin was covered with Lemonade Alcohol Ink.

SherryCheeverChristmasEmporiumCLOSEUPBOTTLES(4)

The bottles are filled with the “Nice” list from the paper and the second bottle is filled with glitter (magic dust).

That’s all for today.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of the day!

Well, it’s all over!  The last day of CHA and Daisy and I are having our traditional Chicago pizza and tiramisu.  The final event for the day was a Cupcake and Cocktail gathering with Splitcoaststampers . . . it was fun to see some old friends . . . good times!

Yesterday my favorite Graphic 45 project was showcased on their blog and I was planning on showcasing it here for you today.  Sadly I can’t do that now . . . .  it was picked up for publication!  WOO HOO!!!!

I do have one more Spellbinders card from CHA to show you however.  This is another one of my favorites but I’m afraid I goofed and realized after it was all put together that I had the paper turned to the wrong side on the circle frame.  My BAD!

I have lots of new stuff to show you once I get home.  I can’t wait to get started!

Product/Supplies:

Good morning from CHA!  Today is the last day and then we move into the Jewelry, Fashion and Accessories Show.  This is what we all call the Craft Super Show and where all the stamping/scrapping booths will be to sell to the public.  I’m pretty excited about browsing the jewelry part of it to look for new embellishments, etc.

I got into a 7 Gypsies class today and worked with the 4×6 Photo Frame, new papers and rubbings . . . it was way too much fun!  It also gave me some ideas about working with the Photo Frames.  I’ve always loved them, but never could figure out what to do with them.  Now I know!

Something else was bothering me yesterday and I just want to clear the record for you here . . . I’m not asking YOU to boycott any die company, I was just telling you what I was doing.  That choice is yours and you are free to make it, just like I’m free to make my own.  I personally don’t care what you use . . . but if you are coming here to see those dies, you won’t find them.  It’s as simple as that!  My decision is very personal and one that has been coming for some months.

How about some stamping . . . one of my CHA projects for the Spellbinders booth.

SherryCheeverCHAJustRiteCard(5)

The focus sentiment is from JustRite Signs of Life.  After it was stamped in Archival Coffee, it was die cut/embossed with Circle Nestabilities.  Each layer is alternating between the Lacey Circles and Spellbinders new die template, Star Circles.  Layers of two have been raised with foam mounting tape.

To show a different use of the new Edgeabilities, this border was turned on the side and embossed the flower companion die.  Since the card was in light shades, I decided to go with a bow of seam binding dyed with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures that come your way today!
