Good morning y’all!  I know it has been some time since I’ve been here, and I truly don’t have any reason other than I just don’t have it in me to be creative.  The desire, the inspiration, the “mojo” is gone.  Why I don’t know.  Maybe it’s burn out!  Things just don’t seem to be falling into place recently . . . I look around the web at what others are doing and quite frankly there’s nothing there for me.  Things I thought were in the works fizzled and dried up . . . that could be part of it . . . my enthusiasm waned and I became disgusted and felt nothing was relevant.

Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do . . . I’m an artist!  I have been my entire life and I still love it . . . I still have ideas running through my head . . .  I just don’t have the motivation or desire to walk into the dudgeon (see that might be another problem) and work.  I feel I’ve been pushed to an area I don’t want to be in and it’s not organized, its damp, its dark  . . . perhaps I should look at it another way and be thankful I actually have a dedicated space that is mine.  Yes that’s what I need to do for sure and make that space useful.  It’s going to take me awhile because I need to organize the rest of the basement and the thought/project is so overwhelming, I just can’t face it.

I used to love to blog!  I loved sharing my life, my stories and my art with you.  Now I ask are you still out there.  Social media has changed the way we work and how we see things . . . Is it a good thing or a bad think?  I can’t decide!  Yes, I’m full of indecision.  Will this be my last post for a while?  Maybe.  I truly don’t know for sure!

I’ve worked really hard the last year and a half in making myself physically healthy.  It dawned on me a month or so ago that I had been living in a fog for the last several years.  A number of things were not getting done around here that should have been . . . I just couldn’t remember to do them or have the energy to do them.  SO . . . I made the decision to quit my antidepressants cold turkey.  I just up and quit them one day.  That was the only medicine that I had not removed from my daily life that I thought could be my culprit of foggy head.  I began taking herbal supplements and using essential oils . . .  the fogginess is gone!  I feel that I’m finally operating 95% healthy.  Now I just need to work on my balance . . .  what makes me happy and that I love to do and those things that must be done.  Priorities!

Now that I’ve rambled on and divulged much more than I had anticipated when I started this post . . . there’s a story somewhere in here . . .

The reason for my post today  . . .  I created this card

FollowYourDreams2

for Quietfire Design today.  You can find out more over on the Quietfire Creations Blog today!  I hope you’ll hop over and take a look . . .

In the meantime . . .  I’m a work in progress and we’ll see where my work is taking me!

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope that you’ll be here again . . .

on Saturday!  It was great fun having family and friends all together sharing the joy as we await the arrival of the new grandbaby, niece, great-grandbaby . . . well you get the picture.

My mother loved telling the story . . . her mother (my grandmother) had two daughters – one born in October; my mother (mom) had two daughters – one born in October; I had two daughters – one born in October; now my oldest daughter is expecting her own daughter – born in October!   We will have four generations all the oldest daughter!

Mallory did a fabulous job with all the little details for the shower from the invites, down to a little book she made up with invitees, addresses and the gifts they brought.   She got crafty and made this wreath for the baby’s door.

Then she made Boo Boo Bunnies as favors for everyone to take home.  I ordered some pink soap from Goat Milk Stuff, which we cut into quarters and stuffed in the opening in the back of the Bunnies (where the ice would normally go).

We had the cake made by a bakery here in Jeff, Adrienne and Co. Bakery Café.

The top layer was Lemon/Strawberry and the bottom was Orange/Raspberry.  Excellent!

That’s all the pictures I have from the shower for you  . . . until I get approval from Kate for the others . . . don’t want to go embarrassing her or anything!

Oh what the hell . . . here’s one of both the girls that I cropped!

Good Tuesday morning!  I know it’s Tangle Time Tuesday and I do have a couple of new tangles to share with you.  BUT first, I have to share a couple of photos . . .

recently we’ve had a number of geese roaming the streets.  There are two ponds by my house, one on each side of the block to the rear of us.  I haven’t gone by recently to check on the water levels but my guess is that they’ve been fairly low.  We always have some type of ducks or geese at the ponds but recently they’ve taken to walking up and down the streets.  This was the scene Sunday morning.

GEESE1

and then at the front end of the boulevard.

GEESE2

These were taken from my front porch .  . . Mr. Stodgy warned me to be careful when walking around the boulevard, watching where I step.   That is my normal walk with the dogs . . . one lap around the boulevard and it’s a half mile.

Geese are not unusual to the area, and in most places where they are there are hundreds of them.  I don’t actually know that they ever leave the area anymore what with the weather we’ve had the last few winters . . . maybe they still do and I just haven’t noticed.

Now for some tangles.

The first was done on a Zentangle Square (you can tell by the rounded corners).

TANGLE2

The second was done on hot press watercolor paper.

TANGLE1

That’s all I have for today, but wait until tomorrow . . . I’ve got a surprise post coming up!

Thanks for stopping by and remember . . .  life is short, enjoy the adventures that come your way today!

Today I went down to the studio to work on some new cards for Quietfire Designs, and when I went to use my Sizzix Tim Holtz Vagabond, it kicked the plates back on me and now the lower roller is groaning, rocking, grinding, and making all sorts of noise.

I used a sandwich that I’ve been using forever . . . Base plate, thin adapter plate, thin chipboard shim, Spellbinders embossing folder with cardstock, clear plate.  This sandwich has never failed me and if I remove the thin adapter plate and shim, add in the extra clear plate that Sizzix recommends, it doesn’t go through and jams up.  I know . . . I tried it, and I learned from it.

I called Sizzix and they informed me that since I did not use the recommended sandwich there was  nothing they could do.  I then wrote them via their contact page and told them the sandwich again, explained that it was thinner than theirs, and they again stated that it was not covered under any type of warranty because I did not “use” their “recommended sandwich” .  However they would offer to sell me a new Vagabond at the discounted price of $100.00.  Well let me tell you how excited I was with that one . . . NO THANK YOU!  I’ve already spent $300.00 for a machine that should last longer than 2 years . . . don’t ya think?

So in light of the current circumstances I’m selling all of my Tim Holtz Sizzix dies and embossing folders for $5.00 a die or $5.00 a set, plus shipping.  If you are interested in any of the following product, send me an email at [email protected] with your mailing address and information so I can send you an invoice through Paypal.

Happy weekend!  I finally took some time this morning to wrap my mind around the magazine giveaway.

So here’s what I did.  I printed out all the comments, cut them into strips and had Smiley from millan.net pull the winners.  So much easier for me that trying to count through the comments since they aren’t numbered anymore  . . .

The winners are:

Smiley from millan.net

Marcie Smith

Congrats Sherry on being published. It is a magazine that I am not familiar with, but will definitely have to check it out now. I am so glad that you are still designing projects with G45. Their new lines from Summer CHA are amazing as always. Miss you on their team though. They do have wonderful DT’s this year. What a lot of talent.
