I suppose today is Thursday – duh! Jeanne and I left Florida on Tuesday morning and feeling pretty good, I decided to drive straight through. We pulled into my driveway around 1:00 a.m., Jeanne complaining of a sore butt! Yesterday was a do nothing type of day, just resting, napping and watching tv. Since I haven’t stamped in a week, I was ready to play a bit this morning. Of course, I had to reorganize what I took to Florida and get all the new stuff that arrived while I was gone carried downstairs.

Hanna Stamps is releasing four new sets tonight at midnight, and since I’ve been away, I needed to catch up a bit. So today, I have a preview of one of the new sets, Baseball Hanna. If you join in the Release Party at 9:00 p.m., in the Hanna Forum on Splitcoaststampers tonight, you’ll be able to see more previews as well as participate in challenges and chat.

I got lucky today when I saw that the Ways to Use it Challenge on SCS was to find ways to score your paper. How appropriate for a baseball card. I just had to score diamonds in the background – .

WT173

Once the background was scored, in 1-1/4″ squares, I stamped the smaller stamps from the set in the scored grid. The score lines were highlighted with gray ink, the same the edges were sponged in. Hanna and the baseball glove were colored with Copic Markers.

  • Stamps: Baseball Hanna from Hanna Stamps
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; SU Berry Bliss; Prism Stormy Light and Frosted Pink
  • Ink: Tsukineko Brilliance Graphite Black; Ranger Adirondack Slate
  • Accessories: Copic Markers; Scor-it; Circle Punches; Fiskars Clouds Decorative Scissors; Tsukineko Dauber; Ribbon; Mounting Tape

I hope you enjoy the rest of your day. I’m off to stamp a little more and I just might clean the kitchen. I could also stand to do a little unpacking and some laundry – but I do believe that stampin’ comes before that!

WOW, can you believe it’s Friday already? This week has flown by and I’m still running to catch up with myself! Jeanne and I spent last night making shirts for the Epilepsy Walk tomorrow and I still have one more to finish for that. Oh my BADNESS, it just keeps coming in and I’m running 10 paces behind.

I’ve got to finish up some projects that have been down on my desk for a week now, because

Tomorrow is our walk, and hopefully I have tons of pictures to share with you! Have a great day!

Happy Thursday! I’ve got tons to do today before heading out for the Gateway Rubber Stamp Getaway later this afternoon, but I so have to share a story with you. It rained buckets here on Tuesday. I was out on the deck grilling up some dinner, and Miss Ellie snuck by me out into the yard. I didn’t think too much of it until she appeared on the stairs a few minutes later, sitting there looking out in the yard (her back to me). I said something to her and off she trotted without even turning around. I watched her go by and all of a sudden I found this. Of course, I had to grab the camera and fast! Miss Ellie by a mud hole

The Mud Puddle

and when she turned around – well just look at that face the front of those legs!

Miss Ellie

Needless to say, I still had dinner on the grill and I’m thinking what in the hell am I gonna do about this dog. I yelled for Mallory to get the shampoo and a towel. I started hosing down the little mud puppy with the garden hose, shampooing her there on the deck. Now mind you, I had dinner on the grill to pull off – which I did, and handed to Mallory. I finally was able to get all the mud washed off while I chased Miss Ellie around the deck. I knew the water was cold, but dog gone it, she was not going inside the way she looked. Once I had her clean, she was shivering to beat the band. I opened the lid to the hot tub and dropped her in. The mud puppy was now a hot dog. A quick towel dry and off into the house we went.

Anyhoo, just something silly I thought I would share today, but I have other important things too. Hanna Stamps is releasing three new sets tonight at midnight. There is a big release party in the Hanna Forum on Splitcoaststampers where there will be challenges and prizes many! If you have time, pop in and say hi! I have a quick sample of the Café set to share today. I’ve seen other DT members showcase Hanna this week, and I thought it would be fun to go a different route with it.

June Release Cafe Hanna

I colored the images with Copic Markers and then stitched around the image panel on the sewing machine. I picked some BasicGrey Sugared paper for my background and decided to do a little funky sewing. I have to tell you – too intentionally sew screwy lines is hard! I think I much prefer sewing straight lines.

I’ll be in Collinsville, IL at the Gateway Rubber Stamp Getaway working the Rubbernecker Booth for the next few days. If you happen to go to the show, please stop by the booth and say hello! It always makes my day when I get to meet my online friends!

Sherry

Good Monday morning! I hope everyone enjoyed your weekend. We had a great family day at my niece’s Graduation party on Saturday and then yesterday, I lazed around a bit and then got some stamping time in. I found out yesterday morning that I will be working the Rubbernecker Booth at the Gateway Rubber Stamp Getaway in Collinsville, IL this coming weekend, so I’m trying to get myself caught up and maybe ahead before the weekend. A huge task since I get so easily sidetracked – just like now.

At 12:00 midnight on Thursday, Hanna Stamps will be releasing three new sets, and I have a preview of one of the sets for you today. There will also be a Release Party in the Hanna Stamps Company Forum on Splitcoaststampers Thursday night. You won’t want to miss the challenges and there might even be a few surprises. Anyhoo, here’s my preview for you today of Bookworm Hanna.

Bookworm Hanna

The card actually uses five individual stamps from the set, and a whole lot of masking. The books and the coffee cup were stamped separately, cut out and then raised on the table with mounting tape. The entire image was colored with Copic Markers. There is a very faint layer of yellow under the lampshade which is my effort to make it look like the light is actually on. Of course, since the light is on, that side of the chair would be lighter too. The background paper and photo corners are a mixture of the different patterns from BasicGrey Mellow, which I sponged all the edges of with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

  • Stamps: Bookworm by Hanna Stamps
  • Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White; BasicGrey Mellow; Prism Herbal Garden Medium and Suede Brown Dark
  • Ink: Tsukineko Brilliance Graphite Black; Ranger Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink
  • Accessories: Copic Markers; Tsukineko Sponge Dauber; Fiskars Scallop Paper Edgers; Photo Corner Punch; Ribbon; Brads; Mounting Tape

Hope you have a fantabulous day today!

Sherry

Hey guys! Have ya’ll missed me? I can’t believe that I have slept so much over the last three days. Working the Akron Stamp Show must have absolutely worn me out. Today was the first day I’ve woken up at a decent time and by myself. Of course, my trips start all over again tomorrow when I go pick Mallory up from school. I’m bringing her home for the summer. Her school year is over. I know she can’t wait to get here and I’m just a little excited myself to have her back home for a bit. I have missed her babbling and her running in and out. She is also my eyes when it comes to finishing off a card – I’ve really missed her for that! Maybe I’ll finally get her stamping with me this summer.

Hanna Stamps is releasing four new sets at midnight tonight. There will be a Release Party in the Hanna Forum on Splitcoast tonight that you won’t want to miss. To give you a sneak peek, I decided to use the new Garden Set for today’s card. I’m sure you’ve probably already seen it a few times this week, but you haven’t seen mine

I looked at the Ways to Use It Challenge on SCS today and thought to myself this can’t be that hard. The challenge today is to make pleats, ruffles, etc. Well I have got to tell you – I wasted more time trying to make ruffles with this twill tape that I can even begin to tell you. I stitched basting seams in the twill, and started to pull for the ruffle, and it became so thick and bunched up that I had to start over. After many different attempts and variations, I decided to try pleats. I sat down at the sewing machine and started folding over the twill as I stitched. It’s just a tad bit crooked, but hey the pleats are on the card. It only took three layers of mounting tape to raise the image over the twill.

WT164

I stamped Hanna first and then stamped her again on a sheet of printer paper. Cut out my mask, and then stamped the wheelbarrow. I colored the image then with Copic Markers, hand drawing the grass (I know, I can’t draw grass). The bag of dirt was popped up over the images with mounting tape. Since this is a gardening card, I thought it would be fun to distress the edges a bit and sponge on some dirt. To finish off the card, I found a gardening charm from a cheap charm bracelet and basted it to bow made from some extra twill.

I hope you all have a wonderful day and if you have sunshine where you are, get out and enjoy it!
