Happy Smiley from millan.net Well gang, I’ve finally finished all my projects that had major deadlines.  I’m so pleased with the way everything turned out BUT alas, I can’t show you yet.  I know, I know  . . . you’re yelling NO TEASING IT’s NOT FAIR!  So sorry Charleys but you’ll get to see them soon enough – just a few more weeks until the Spellbinders CHA Blog Frenzy!

Oh and by the way I had a great time on the float last Saturday.  Here’s a quick picture of us after the parade.

3rd of july 2010 parade 031

It’s the float that floats . . . . Smiley from millan.net Can you tell its a pontoon boat?  Boy I’ve spent many hours floating (as well as many other things Smiley from millan.net) on this boat!

Now I have to ask you . . . .

Today The Color Throwdown is celebrating their 100th Color Challenge!  Just For Fun® Rubber Stamps is one of the many sponsors giving away prizes.  Now I have to admit that because JFF is giving away a $25 Gift Certificate we had a sneak peek at the colors.  The JFF Gift Certificate can be found on Broni’s blog, Splashes of Watercolor.  You’ll for sure want to go there and leave a comment.  Do make sure you visit The Color Throwdown Blog so you can visit all their designers who are giving away prizes and there are some fabulous prizes being given away.  The JFF Designers participating this week are:

Kat Tucker
Starla Nelson
Roni Johnson
Glenda Brooks
Margarita Ybarra

I made a card myself for the challenge . . . oh please don’t die of Smiley from millan.net!  It’s not all that much.

ColorThrowdown100July7

I water colored the peony with Distress Reinkers, die cut/embossed it with Oval Nesties and did some sponging around the edges.  I then decided to make a frame for the peony with Labels One.  The sentiment on the tag is a new sentiment set from Just For Fun®.

Well, I suppose that’s all for today!  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, enjoy the adventures that the day brings you!

Good Friday morning!  Yesterday . . .  oh my BADness yesterday!  Even though I’m still in the throws of getting projects together for CHA, I got this burr to clean and organize the studio.  I’ve been throwing stuff around and not putting it away for weeks.  Earlier this week I threw my hands up when I couldn’t find a tool I had just used.  SO yesterday I cleaned and organized.  I moved things around, I brought in a desk for the computer, I made myself a little cave  . . . I LOVE it.  I still have much to put away and/or throw out.  I finally quit when the ankles started to hurt . . . . plus, I knew I needed to make a card for today’s Just For Fun® Friday Color Challenge.

We’re doing something new with the Color Challenge this week.  The prize will be $50.00 in free product.  The amount will not be cumulative and does not carry over.  In essence, if you only spend $30 then that’s it.  The other $20 cannot be used at a later time.

This week, I challenged the Design Team to use some of my favorite colors.

Now for my card!  While cleaning yesterday I ran across this image that I had used in a prior tutorial – Misting with Markers.  I decided that since my stamps were spread out all over and too hard to get to, that I would use the image.

I used watercolor paper to make the background with the Wrinkle Free Distress technique, using blue, green and purple inks.  While the paper was still slightly damp, I embossed it with * Impressabilities.  Here’s a close up of the embossing.

Smiley from millan.net Good morning!  How was your day yesterday?  I stayed as busy as I wanted to be . . . mostly sitting and rocking and it made me so tired . . . I had to take a Smiley from millan.net

My project today is a little early in the year for it (Halloween), but I found this awesome Haunted House stamp in the Just For Fun® booth when I was in Orlando.  I have a project that I’m working on and this stamp will work perfectly with it (if I don’t change my mind).  I decided to play around a little last night and see what I could do with it!

HauntedHouseJune29(3)

The image is actually much bigger than this, I ended up cutting it down when I die cut it out.

Haunted House

Isn’t that one fabulous image?

I stamped the house first, then worked the ink around the image.  I really wanted it to look like the moon is shining on the house in an eerie sort of way.  Behind the sentiment, there is stamped very lightly a spider web.  Looking at it now it probably cold have  been a little darker.

Well, that’s all I have for now.  I’m heading down to do some cleaning and a little organization so I can keep on working!  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . . life is short, enjoy the day’s adventures!

Good morning!  Wow I can’t believe it’s Friday already and I haven’t posted crap all week long.  I will say that I’ve been darn busy though.  I can’t show you what I’ve been working on . . . . you’ll have to wait for the Spellbinders CHA Blog Frenzy!  Fun, fun stuff!!!

Moving on to today’s post.  It’s time for another Just For Fun® Friday.  This week Glenda challenged the Design Team and anyone who wants to play along with us, to use the following colors:

JFFCC17

I call this my sell out card.  It’s clean, no sponging, simple for the most part, and can be made rather quickly.  Not my style per se, but it is another style that I CAN do.

JFFCC17June25

The flower is a brand new image introduced at Stampfest Orlando.  I colored it with Copic Markers.  See that little sentiment on the bottom that says Happy Birthday.  That’s another new set of stamps introduced at Stampfest.  This one (the sentiments) I designed and it’s set up to work with the smallest of the Spellbinders™ Oval and Circle Nestabilities.  They will also work with the Stampin’ UP! oval punches.  I’m pretty excited about them . . . it’s a set we’ve needed for a long time!  I don’t believe either of these sets are on the new JFF site yet, but if you decide they are HAVE TO HAVE, you can email [email protected] and he’ll set you up.

We would love to have you play along with us!  You don’t have to use Just For Fun® stamps, especially if you don’t have any yet.  However, if you do play along, you might just be the lucky winner of a 25% Discount so you can go shopping!   All you have to do is make a card/project using the above colors and post a direct link on the Just For Fun® Blog.

It’s Saturday night and we just got in from a rainy run through Downtown Disney.  It was my first trip there and really rather fun.  We did however, come in totally drenched from a major thunder storm.  We had dinner at Rainforest Cafe and while we were setting on the outdoor patio it started raining.  So we hung out in the store for awhile while it was thundering and lightening.

We didn’t wait out the rain and decided to make a run for it.  The one store Sandy wanted to go to was the Lego Store.

It was a long day on the show floor today and I didn’t get away from the booth but for maybe a short break.  Saw lots of SCS friends and some of you readers at the booth.  So glad you stopped by and had a little fun with me!

Friday night was make and take night.  There were 125 stampers, give or take, hopping from table to table having a blast.  Here they are waiting or the doors to open.

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll be back with more tomorrow.  I’ll have some time to kill tomorrow afternoon and evening.  My flight home Monday morning leaves at 7:30 but I have to meet my shuttle at 4:30 a.m.  I see no reason to go to sleep Sunday night.
