Happy Wednesday!  I can’t believe that it is already 2:30 in the afternoon and I’m still putzing around trying to get things started.  I took all the little shihtzes to the groomer this morning  and then I got my new printer installed to the network.  WOO HOO . . . now I can print from my iPad!

While I’m waiting for the groomer to call and tell me my brood is ready, I thought I would show you the last card I did last weekend.  I saved this one for last because it’s my favorite of all three.

SnowmanCard((5SB)

The image is from JustRite Stampers Blizzard Bunch, which was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and colored with Copic Markers.

Copics for Snowman

The paper is Memory Box Yuletide that I picked up from Papertrix my last visit.  The edges were distressed with scissors and then the edges were sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.    The ribbon is seam binding that I dyed with the pink ink that matched the cardstock.

SnowmanCard CloseUpSnowflake

I finally broke out my new Spellbinders snowflakes and got to use them on this card too!  The flake was die cut/embossed from Neenah paper, stenciled with a combination of Aqua Adirondacks and Antique Linen.  Each layer was covered with Glossy Accents and then sprinkled with Krystallos Vintage Glass Glitter.  The snowflake is held together by wire threaded through a button and down through the center of the flake.

Well y’all, that’s it for today.  I’m still waiting for the groomer to call so I think I’ll kill some time in the studio.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . embrace the adventures of the day!

Smiley from millan.net I am so glad today is Tuesday and my busy, busy days are coming to an end.  I have a big meeting here at the house tonight (a sorority thing) and I spent yesterday trying to straighten things up so we wouldn’t look like total pigs.  They’ll have to deal with my dirty windows and a few cobwebs . . .  but hey a great housekeeper I’m not.  I would much rather create!

Thank goodness I was able to make a couple of extra cards over the weekend . . . Because now I have something to share with you today!

Of course you remember that I recently attended a class by Karen Lockhart at Papertrix.  When I was shopping at the end of the classes, I could not resist picking up a few Halloween stamps.  Actually, the minute I walked in the door of the shop, they just jumped right into my basket . . . there was nothing I could do but purchase them.  The Haunting Witches Dress was one that jumped in!

LockhartHauntCouture(3SB)

The dress was stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White with Memento Tuxedo Black and then colored with Copic Markers.

The web on the bottom, the bodice and the collar were highlighted with a Gelly Roll Stardust Marker.  The dress and the layers below were die cut/embossed with Spellbinders™ Labels Eleven.  The sentiment “haunt couture” was die cut/embossed with Grommet Tags and the bottom was was made with Classic Scalloped Edgeabilities.  On the inside, but not photographed is the sentiment “witchie . witchie . screamie . screamie . happy . happy. halloweenie!”  You’ve got to LOVE it!

I guess that’s all for today, except . . . thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of the day!

Good Monday morning!  I hope y’all had a good weekend.  I myself had two days where I was able to play with paper and ink.  I truly don’t know where last week went.  I was busy everyday and it seems I never did find time to get into the studio.  Each morning I would commit myself to get creative but then something else got in the way.

The first thing I need to tell you today is that my Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium wall hanging is being showcased on the Graphic 45 Blog today.

You can see all the details on the Graphic 45 Blog and I know they would love to have you stop by.

Speaking of Christmas, I think I’ll show you one of the cards I worked on this past weekend.  Let’s start with the Santa card.    I was so taken with the images in the JustRite Blizzard Bunch that I’ve been trying to find time to play with them.  This Santa is one of my favorites.

Santa Card(4SB)

Santa was stamped on Neenah Classic Crest Solar White and then colored with Copic Markers.   (I don’t want to hear any wisecracks about how I label my Copics either.  The take has been on there so long that I hate to remove it now.)

Copics for Santa

At first I airbrushed the background by masking Santa, but I later decided the background need to be a bit darker.  Color was added over the airbrushing with a brighter blue and yellow marker.

He is layered on various Spellbinders Circle Die Templates, each one sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  The paper is Memory Box Yuletide that I picked up on my last trip to Papertrix.    The background papers were distressed along the edges and then sponged with the same Antique Linen.   The border is Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents.

When I was looking for ribbon, I spotted the Scattered Straw seam binding that I had made for a prior project.  It got my attention because of the yellow bells in the paper.  To me it brings the bells out more . . . I didn’t notice them before as much as after I added the ribbon.

Well, I think that’s all I have for today.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, embrace the adventures that come you way.  (That’s what I did last week.)

Smiley from millan.net Well, I’m later than I wanted to be today in posting.  I don’t really know what happened to my day . . . I worked in the studio this morning making this card, but I guess it took me longer than I thought.

When I was at CHA, I picked up the Halloween sets from JustRite Stampers and couldn’t wait to sit down and do some coloring.  The only problem was I didn’t have any Halloween paper.  So when I was at Papertrix on Monday I picked up Memory Box’s new pad, Blackbird.    By the way, there are things I find at Papertrix that I don’t find anywhere else.  If you happen to want to use some of these things I’m picking up (like this Memory Box Paper Pad), you can call Cindy or Wayne and I bet they would take a phone order and ship it out to you.   I really can’t help you with another link for the Memory Box paper, because I don’t have any other connection.  If someone out there does, and if you/they don’t mind me linking to the site, let me know.  I’ll gladly put up a link in my supply list.

Are you ready for the card? Smiley from millan.net

The image was colored with Copic Markers and the web and the black border were highlighted with a Gelly Roll Stardust Pen.   Spellbinders ovals were used to mount the image and the new Edgeabilities were used for the border.  The seam binding was dyed with a mixture of Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stains.  The image and the remaining papers were sponged with a touch of Antique Linen Distress Ink.

I almost forgot the sentiment.  It was stamped in Jet Black Archival and then die cut with Spellbinders new Blossom Tags and Accents.  The edges were sponged with Antique Linen and attached to the bow with a mini safety pin.

That’s all I have for now.  Thanks for stopping by and remember  . . . life is short, embrace the adventures of your day!

Happy Saturday!  I finally arrived home last night after a 2+ hour delay in Chicago.  I also found out that I had been walking around CHA all week without a working phone . . . I had one phone call and couldn’t hear at all and come to find out, my phone was all screwed up. Smiley from millan.net took me over to the Apple store this morning and I did an exchange for one that works. Smiley from millan.net I’m also unpacked with a few loads of laundry started.  I’ll worry about getting stuff into the studio tomorrow  . . . when I plan to Smiley from millan.netall day with new stuff!

I’ve been scanning through Google Reader and have noticed that some of my projects from the Graphic 45 booth are being shown here and there, so I thought I would show one here today.  If I Only Had a Heart . . .

SherryCheeverTinManCardJuly(4)

The paper and chipboard are from the new Graphic 45 paper, The Magic of Oz.  The black ribbon is also from Graphic 45 which was tied off with some dyed seam binding.  The hearts are chipboard that were painted red and then covered in Christmas Red Stickles.

The Tin Man was colored with Copic Markers and layered on Spellbinders ovals.  To be funny, I added a border cut from Contemporary Hearts . . . plus, it adds to the heart theme.

I guess that’s all I have for today.  I’m off to get some more things straightened up.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . embrace the adventures of the day!
