Good morning and happy So I finally got my mess in the studio cleaned up yesterday and actually stamped late into the night. I feel so much better getting all those stamps organized and put away. Now I ALMOST know where everything is!

Before the holidays, I worked on a series of cards using the Cowboy from Lizzie Anne Designs. The first one I posted last week. What I thought I would do, is give you one each week until the series was over. When I started the series, it occurred to me that the little cowboy could be holding any number of things in his hand. With Valentine’s Day drawing near and I am getting some cards ready (I know, typically not my style, I seem to always wait until the last minute), I knew he had to hold a little heart.

Cowboy with Heart

Here I have the cowboy holding the heart balloon from the High Hellos set. There was no masking involved. It was just way too easy to stamp that balloon right over his hand. How I love those acrylic blocks! The images were then colored with Copic markers, and the edges were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. Actually, the edges of every piece of paper were sponged with the distress ink. The background paper is from a pad that Mallory gave me for Mother’s Day one year which I’m finding myself using more and more. I stitched the background panel to another on the sewing machine. The sentiment, also from High Hellos, was stamped in the distress ink and the panel was made by punching with both the small and large oval punches. I don’t know who will be getting this card, but I think it turned out rather cute.

Great news today, Lizzie Anne Designs is releasing 8 new Little Bits™ stamp sets and 8 new Simply Singles™ today! If you’ve already seen the Sneak Peek, you know how much fun these stamps are. If you haven’t, you need to check out all the new releases at Lizzie Anne Designs.

This first card I have to show you is using the new release, High Hellos, which was colored with Copic markers. I had enough scraps left of some BasicGrey Blush to sew together a background. All the edges of the paper were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink. The image panel was also sponged and then sewn together with a layer of the Blush and Chocolate Chip. The sentiment medallion was made by gluing more scraps onto a thin chipboard coaster and then cut out with the Cuttlebug. Both the image panel and the medallion are raised on mounting tape.

High Hopes Cone Bday

Stamps: High Hellos by Lizzie Anne Designs

Paper: SU Chocolate Chip, BasicGrey Blush, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Tim Holtz Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Accessories: Copic Markers, Sewing Machine, Chipboard Coasters, Cuttlebug, May Arts and Offray Ribbon, Mounting Tape

The second card is made with the new release, Cowboy and Howdy. Of course, I colored the image (with Copic markers) first, had a color scheme picked out, and then changed it. So if you are wondering why there is red and blue on the cowboy and green in the paper – that why! The card is SU Chocolate Chip, but the designer paper is Wanted by Cosmo Cricket. All the edges are sponged with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink and then sewn to a panel of Chocolate Chip. When I’m sewing on a card, I’ve been sewing all the layers together on a panel that is the same color of the actual card. Don’t know why, but I really don’t want the sewing to show when you open the card and then I can layer and play around with the background as much as I want. Anyhoo, I thought I would play more with some of the stitches on my sewing machine and found one that I thought looked a little western, and that’s what I used to sew the image and sentiment panels.
