Good morning! How are y’all today? I have sorority social at my house tonight so I spent yesterday doing some cleaning . . . . I know, I know . . . such an ugly word! You know things like washing rugs, mopping floors . . . . all those dreaded must dos every once in a while.
For my card today, I thought it would be fun to show you an entirely different look for the poppy I posted yesterday. I thought yesterday’s card was pretty plain for me . . . no distressing, not much layering . . . pretty clean actually.
Well, I just couldn’t help myself last night! Lots of distressing, layers on layers, sponging until you rub the sponge off the dauber, and red poppies colored with Copic Markers. It makes you think of Dorothy and Toto . . .
The striped frame was made from light weight chipboard covered in the paper. YES, my Labels Four Nesties cut through the chipboard coaster!
- Stamps: E2884 Poppy from Just For Fun® Rubber Stamps
- Paper: 7 Gypsies Classic Paperie; Basic Black; Cream; Neenah Classic Crest Solar White

That’s all for today . . . thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, take advantage of the adventures that come your way!
You are not in Kansas any More!!! Beautiful and I have to admit I like it better the second time around….Nice job!
Well, I wouldn’t have called yesterday’s card very plain…they are both so pretty! This reminds me a lot of your New Orlean’s card, except softer.
Thanks for sharing! :o) I love checking out your artwork!
I love how vibrant the poppy coloring is. You always do such a splendid job! Enjoy your Soroity gathering.
Sherry, I don’t think you ever made a card that wasn’t original and stunning. I’m new to all the dies. Why do people buy the large circles and the small circles? If you want to frame, can’t you use two sizes in the same set? Many thanks for your inspiration.
beautiful!
Sandra
Hmmmmm…….can’t say I like one more than the other. They each have their own look (like comparing apples/oranges…..)
Aaaannnd…..I don’t see any of the effects of all that cleaning here!! I’m sure you’re on the way?!
love the look thanks for a pretty start to the day
so cool, love the b&w with red, the stripes and diamonds work great together!

You always make me smile Sherry. Thanks.
I love that poppy image, I think it may be my favourite flower.
Both your cards are awesome, I love them both.
Just a wee thought, funny how distressing doesn’t distress me at all, it makes me feel happy & creative. lol
hugs

I’m sorry to say…LOVE the Poppy(excellent coloring)…but it clashes with the rest of the card, IMHO.

I just love the black, white, red theme of this! And the way you cut off a piece of the circle! So cool!!!
Another beauty!! Love it 🙂
Beautiful Poppy image and love how you distressed the music score around it. Can’t wait to see what new stuff you come up with after being *gifted* this weekend with new/old 3-D items. Lucky Duck!
Hahahaha, all that distressing must have been a reaction to too much cleaning 🙂 Beautiful.
