Good morning!  I can hardly believe that I posted one day and then turned around and the month is just about over.  When I posted my last project for the Quietfire/Walnut Hollow Blog Hop, I truly had all intentions of posting again within the next day or two.  In my mind,  I was going to create another project similar to the one for the hop  . . .

I turned around and here it is a few weeks later, the middle of October and everything I had planned just didn’t come together!

I have a family reunion this weekend and one of the highlights is an auction to raise funds for cemetery maintenance/upkeep.  Last year was the first time I attended and didn’t know what to expect, so I didn’t take anything handmade.  This year  . . .  well it’s a little different!

Instead of recreating the wheel this early in the morning (another of those best laid plans), I’m going to point you to the Quietfire Creations Blog to see the step-outs I did for the Walnut Hollow Blog Hop.

As with the other project, the wood sign is from Walnut Hollow.  It was painted, antiqued and then sanded with my palm sander.  Okay I’ll admit it . .  . I’m hooked on the palm sander to distress!  I’ve even gone around the house and sanded some shelves that I had previously painted that I felt needed more of a “worn” look.  We can thank Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s Fixer Upper for that tip!

I hope y’all have a fabulous day!

Good morning all!  Quietfire Design and Walnut Hollow have teamed together for an inspirational blog hop using the Quietfire stamps and/or digital cutting files and Walnut Hollow wood products.  Two designers from the Quietfire team are posting over on the Quietfire Creations Blog each day this week.

I’ve been wanting to work with Walnut Hollow products forever and a day and was so excited when we were told about this hop.    I’m really excited with the way my project turned out  . . .

Good morning and Happy Monday!  I can’t believe that it was a week before I was able to get back to my work desk.  First things first . . .  have you heard about Art on the Edge with Ken Oliver?  If not, let me feel you in.  Art on the Edge is a retreat that my friend, Ken Oliver, is hosting in his hometown of Newburgh, Indiana.  I for one am very excited . . . I’m going and I’m rooming with Heidi Blankenship and Debbie Seyer.  I’ve also found out that a few other of my Indiana crafty friends will be there, Gretchen Wilson and Joan Fricker!  I can’t wait to see everyone!

Ken has planned two classes for Saturday and has added an ICE Resin class on Friday night.  He’s also made arrangements with a few of the local merchants in Newburgh for us to visit and explore their shops.  I think there are still a few seats available if you are interested  . . . check it out here!

Now for my card today!  When I first saw the Quietfire Design stamp sets, one hit me right upside the head . . . Twirl & Enjoy.  It just sounds like fun, doesn’t it?  Immediately I thought of one of my favorite, older stamps from Art Impressions . . . Dotty.

It has been a very long time since I pulled Dotty off the shelf and added some ink . . . but she just fits the sentiment, “when in doubt twirl,” perfectly.

Dotty was colored with Copic Markers, then die cut/embossed and layered with Spellbinders A2 5×7 Matting Basics A and B.  The sentiment was stamped in Archival Jet Black and then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders Ovals.

Sadly I don’t think you can see it in the photo, but the background layer behind the image was made with media specialty paper that was colored with Copic Marker Refills and Blending Solution.  I wanted to pick up some of the color from Dotty’s dress in the background instead of keeping it white.

I guess that’s all for me right now.  I’ve got some errands to run this morning but I’m hoping to get back to my work table this afternoon.  There boxes of new product in my studio that need to be sorted through!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day!!
