Good morning!  I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend and that your week is ending with a Smiley from millan.net.   I don’t understand what happened yesterday, but I actually got a second project made!  I KNOW . . . I must have a fever!

When I was at CHA, I was talking to AJ Otto in the Unity Booth about their Iron Orchid line.  I loved them!  They remind me of five to six years ago when I enjoyed over-stamping and didn’t use designer paper at all.    Remember those days when we tried to see how many background stamps we could use on one card?  Those were and remain some of my favorite sets to this very day, and the Iron Orchid line remind me of those sets.

Today’s card is made with the Iron Orchid Provencial Collection – Carte Postale from Unity.  I had so much fun with this card.

Now before you ask about the designer paper, its some very old paper I had in my stash that was about the only thing I had on hand to work with the colors I wanted to use.

The flower was stamped on watercolor paper and then water colored with Distress Re-Inkers (Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive, Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed).  That image was then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders™ Circle Nestabilities and placed on top of a layer die cut/embossed with Fleur De Lis Doily Accents (which the border was also die cut with).

The two papers behind the flower image started out as tags.  Using the Wrinkle Free Distress Technique with Vintage Photo and Bundled Sage inks, the tags were colored up and stamped with the images in Coffee Archival.  Of course, five to six years ago I didn’t have the distress inks and would have used a sea sponge instead to make the background.  Now the sea sponge . . . that’s a great background and one I should do again just for the heck of it!

Once again I used my new favorite . . . seam binding . . . which I misted with either really watered down Vintage Photo or Tea Dye.  I honestly don’t know what was mixed up in the mini mister when I grabbed for it.

Well that’s all for today!  I’m off for the annual mammy-gram and hopefully lunch with my mom and sister.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Saturday!  I’ve got a busy, busy day today.  My sorority, Sigma Phi Gamma, is having a “Fall Into Christmas” Event today at Preservation Station here in Jeff and I’ve signed on to be a roamer/helper.  This is a new event for us . . . we have signed up Vendors (i.e., Tupperware, Pampered Chef, Longaberger, and many, many more), and opened the doors to the public.  If you are local and want to get a jump on some holiday shopping, come on over and join us!

I guess I forgot to mention that the image on yesterday’s card is from Crafty Secret’s Heartwarming Vintage booklet, Seasonal Images & Journal Notes.  I had it listed in the supplies, but I had actually typed a paragraph about it, and for some reason . . . . it disappeared from my post.  I didn’t color the image . . . . that’s how it comes . . . . ready to use!

Today’s card is for all you non-stitchers out there.  You know who you are . . . . those that say you can’t sew a straight line, never use a sewing machine, blah blah blah.

The image was stamped and embossed with gold and then mounted on rectangle Nesties™.  I also die cut/embossed some smaller rectangles, which are behind the sentiment panel.

Don’t you LOVE the ribbon?  Oh my gosh it makes beautiful bows and ties so nicely.  I first saw this ribbon at CHA while in the May Arts booth with my friend, Cindy Lyles.  I remarked then how pretty it was and then a package showed up at my front door.  My sweet, generous, lost sister-friend, sent me some in every color!

That’s all I have time for folks  . . . I’m off and running!  I hope you have a fabulous day and take advantage of any adventure that comes your way today!!!!

Happy Labor Day!  Well, I have to show you what I did.  never one to leave well enough alone . . . I totally “f’d” this one up.

cast3

now I’m thinking I need to paint the whole thing black, add some gold chains and kick some butt!

Can you tell what I did?

some purple alcohol inks, some rock candy stickles . . . hated it.  Decided then to wipe it down with blending solution and it still looks like crap.  last night while watching the race I was filing my nails and the nail file slipped.  can you see some white areas?

Cindy I like your idea of dollhouse furniture!  How long will it take you to get here?

One more thing before I go . . . Today is the last day to take advantage of the Labor Day Discount code at eclectic Paperie

I know, you don’t have to tell me . . . BAD girl that I am . . . I am such an enabler.  BUT seriously . . . I have a project to show you and I would hate for you to miss out on these great Maya Road canvas tags!   Here’s why!

UnitySuziBluBROKEmyHEART

So how did this tag become to be?  I was at CHA in the Maya Road booth and saw the tags.  I had already been in the Unity Stamps booth and had fallen in love with the new Suzi Blu stamps.  Daisy and I asked if we could try something with the tag and they very graciously gave us one.  We ran back to the Unity booth, told them of our plan and there we had it . . . a canvas tag stamped with a Suzi Blu stamp.  I‘ve hesitated in uploading this because eclectic Paperie is still waiting on their shipment of Suzi Blu stamps.  I’m having faith that since I’ve now posted it, they will be arriving any day now and Daisy will let me know so I can order some!  You know . . . it’s like waiting for your dinner to arrive in a restaurant, you finally give up and go to the bathroom and when you get back . . . your dinner was served!

This image was water colored with Distress Ink re-inkers, and I can’t wait to try it with some acrylic paints.

SEE why I said I didn’t want you to miss out on the canvas tags

That’s all I have for now.  Thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, take advantage of the adventures that some your way!
