Well, I’m starting to feel the 5:00 rise time this morning and want to get one more card posted until I crash and burn for the afternoon — I may or may not make it back to the studio.

I’m still working on doing the challenges for Dare to Get Dirty, and this card is for Candy’s (cwilliams) challenge today. When I first thought of this, I was thinking simple and how I could incorporate acetate into the design. I didn’t have any acetate, so I used the front sheet of a laminating folder. I cut a sheet of cardstock just slightly smaller than my card, scored 2 lines for form a channel, and stamped the dragonfly from Au Naturale by Lizzie Anne Designs in Soft Sky. The acetate sheet was cut the same size as the panel, but I added 1/2″ on the top, which I scored and overlapped behind the background panel forming a hinged layer. Once I had the two panels together, I overstamped the dragonfly images on the acetate layer with The Essential Glue Pad and used Diamond Gold Ultra-Fine Glitter on the glue. To hold this outer panel down, I tied the ribbon around the top and added some brads on the bottom. The top layers were then added to the card.

Good afternoon everyone! It’s Friday and day three of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges celebrating the Three Year Anniversary of the Splitcoast Fan Club. I hope you have been enjoying the challenges so far, that you are looking forward to those today and are getting ready for all those coming your way this weekend. I have one tomorrow and then another on Sunday. Hope you join me both of those days for some rockin’ fun!

This is one of my challenge cards for today. I made this one for Julia’s challenge! All the panels of the designer paper were sponged in distress ink and sewn together onto a black background panel. The image panel has French Script stamped lightly in the background. The motif, for lack of a better name, and the sentiment (which is crooked – and too late to change it) is rock and rolled and then stamped over the French Script.

Hey there! Here’s my second card for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges on Splitcoast. (If you are not a Splitcoast Fan Club Member you will need to follow this link.) This one I made for Jen’s (genie1314) challenge! This is a new set called Let’s Hear it for the Boys. It’s one of the new sets from My Favorite Things and will be released August 1. I typically have a hard time with guy cards, guess cause I don’t have the need to make many. Besides, this is probably only the second stamp set that I even own for guys. I thought I was gonna have problems with it, but actually once I got to coloring and playing around, it came together quite easily. I colored the image with Copic markers and used some scraps of BasicGrey that I had tucked away.

Hope everyone is enjoying the challenges (if you are playing) and I’m head into the gallery now and start commenting!

If you are not a Splitcoast Fan Club Member, you still have time to sign up and join in all the fun. You really don’t want to miss out on this one – – Daily challenges from all the Dirty Girls, past and present.

My first card today, is my submission for Beate’s challenge. I broke out my new Le Jardin designer papers and dug out one of my favorite stamp sets. So glad this one made it into the new catty! The backgrounds are all using the designer paper, but the sentiment panel is a scrap of Very Vanilla that I stamped on very lightly with the French Flaire background stamp and the fleur de lis from Carte Postale, then stamped the sentiment over the top. The edges were distressed and then sponged with distress ink and the panels were sewn together on the sewing machine.

Hope everyone has a great day and you join us in the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges!

This time I combined two of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges into one card. I started this card for genie1314’s challenge, and then realized that it also fit SweetMissDaisy’s challenge. So double challenge card! Don’t even ask why the cup is pink (that is an entirely different story).

Let’s pretend for a minute, that this little duck, is the little chick I got one year when I was just a mere babe. That chick grew and grew and grew – into a goose! Living in the city as we did, and the city being no place for pets, my grandfather took my little chick to the country. I remember visiting my Aunt’s farm once where he had taken the goose, it was huge, bigger than me and flappin’ all over the place. That was the first time and last time I ever saw that goose after it was moved to the farm. We never had any other pets (well maybe a turtle that my mother let dry up – another story, for another time), but once my grandparents moved to the country, there were dogs, kittens, etc. Hmmmmm.

Anyhoo, here’s my card!

Feeling Fowl

The big polka dots are made with sponge daubers. The small solid polka dot is one of the stamps from Behind the Scenes and the outline dots on the card are from Let’s Go For a Walk (both sets from My Favorite Things). The image panel and the sentiment are both raised on layers of mounting tape.
