It’s Saturday and I’ve done nothing but putter around in the studio, color some images, and doodle on my scrap pads – oh I so love being lazy. Actually, I got a bug late yesterday afternoon that I needed to do a little reorganizing again. Darn these kids of mine! One of them really needs to move out, because I NEED a bigger stamping area. I have no room to add one more thing, and I so needed to get some stamps stored away. Then because I moved an old multimedia tower that I store unmounted and backgrounds in, I just had to go through some piles of paper, catalogs and magazines. In the process of going through those papers, and finding them a home, I needed to tackle one of the cabinets in the laundry room. There I have stored old SU catalogues, Cuttlebug accessories, and now my new Bind-It-All stuff. Yes, I said stuff because that is what I’m doing, stuffing it in any open spot I can find. Who knew when I built this addition to the house a few years ago that it wasn’t large enough? Well, everyone but me actually! As I wait patiently for my oldest daughter to move into her first apartment (and who knows when that’s going to be), I have resolved to myself that I cannot purchase another thing . . . . maybe.

Once again, I was up late last night and couldn’t sleep. I don’t know if it was the nap or the coffee I had after dinner, but I was wide awake and did some coloring. A few days ago someone commented on an old card in my SCS Gallery.  I went and dug it up so I could show you:

I’ve only made two cards with Thoroughly Thankful, and I was happy when it made the big catalog. Last night I was playing around with my Copic markers and different techniques for shading, and thought that it would be fun to CASE myself. I have never taken an old card from gallery and intentionally made another one just for the sake of remaking the card. Here you have it, a CASE of myself!!!

Thoroughly Thankful case

Stamps: Thoroughly Thankful and Flannel Plaid

Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Old Olive Chocolate Chip

Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Old Olive, Tim Holtz Ranger Old Paper Distress Ink

Accessories: Copic Markers, May Arts Ribbon, Brads, Dauber, Scissors and Sanding Block for distressing, Mounting Tape

The image was colored with Copic Markers. I stamped the image twice, and colored the pumpkins, cut out 2 of them and mounted them on top of the image with mounting tape. The photo corner is also raised on mounting tape.

What a day I had yesterday! I picked up my friend, Bad Bev, at 7:00 in the morning and we headed off to Stampaway Convention in Cincinnati. WOW how much fun we had!!! We met some of my fellow Splitcoast friends there who I have been talking to in chat threads for a couple of years now and have never met. I have to say it’s always fun to meet people you’ve talked to and never met. I feel like I’ve known these ladies for years and when I finally got to meet them, the chit chat just doesn’t stop.

After shopping, we all got together and had our picture made with none other than the cowardly lion. That’s me, Bad Bev, Barb, Jen, Dawn and Amber. Jen traveled the farthest, she actually drove down from Michigan to visit with us — I’m so glad she did!

Of course, while browsing through the booths, I was lucky enough to meet Lori (llasanford) who has been chatting with us on Splitcoast, Debbie (cincimom) and her friend, and a few other who recognized me from my avatar. After we took the picture above, and were getting ready to leave, I heard my name from down the hallway – well, it was none other than Tish Brunkhart and some of the other demos that I had the opportunity of meeting earlier in the year when I traveled to the Stampin’ and Pamperin’ Retreat. What fun to see these ladies again.

We went to eat at Cracker Barrel after our shopping, and the waitress was so amazed that we had never met each other before. We talked, laughed, and had the best time. It was so nice to spend time with these ladies. Each of them are just the nicest, sweetest and funniest women – what a pleasure it was for me to finally meet them.

I know you are all curious as to what I purchased yesterday, and I did miss out on some things that I regret I didn’t spend a closer time looking at – but here it is:

Shopping

Not as much as I picked up in Orlando, but some stamps that I had never seen before and have so many possibilities.

Hope everyone has a great weekend, and I’m hoping to make it to the studio for a while today to play with some of my new stuff!

I have finally got myself caught up with things around the house. Well for the most part anyway – laundry still needs to be done (but that is an everyday thing around here). The major things are caught up with – ya know the book work, etc. I’m going to take a few minutes this morning and try to figure out the tagging that has been going on. Who has tagged me, etc. I’ve been tagged quite a few times the last couple of weeks and I let it all slide by in my mad rush to get some stamping projects done.

I think I’ve got!

Both my good friend Julie Buhler and Michelle Sturgeon gave me the Rockin’ Girl Blogger Tag. WOO HOO – I’m a

rocking

Both Fran Sabad and Becky Givans have tagged me for the 7 Things About Me. I’ve done this one before and don’t know if I can add anything to that list right now, but here’s where I answered before.

Thank you ladies for tagging me! I’m not going to tag anyone new – cause I just can’t think of anyone that hasn’t already been tagged during the time it took me to get to this. What I will do, however, is let you pick one of the fabulous blogs listed in my blogroll. I add new ones all the time that inspire me – so click on one you haven’t visited yet. You will find some new and awesome stuff!

I’ll be back later today with some stamping – it’s still early here!

Well, I finally finished my final uploads for the Fan Club Gallery on Splitcoast.  It seems like it was just yesterday when I got the PM from JulieHRR to be on the Dirty Dozen Design Team.   It’s been six months, my rotation is over, and it just doesn’t seem like it!  It has been my pleasure and joy to stamp each month for the Fan Club Members.  I have made some very good friends while serving on the DD, each of them truly amazing and very talented!  It has been my honor and privilege to be on a Design Team with these marvelous women!

What you ask am I gonna do now?  The first thing I did today after my final upload was grab my camera and walk over to my neighbor’s house.  He has planted some wildflowers along the fence facing my driveway and I could not resist any longer taking some pictures.  I’ve been searching for just that special image for a new blog banner, and I think I found it today.  Wild flowers for the wild/BAD one!!!!!  I took a number of pictures of his garden, but loved this one of the wildflowers.  So untamed, unruly and wild!

I’ll begin doing the challenges again on Splitcoast and have my other Design Teams to stamp for.  I don’t think I’ll be bored and I’m sure my girls will be happy if I don’t look at them one more time and say “NOT NOW, I’m working on the gallery!”

I apologize that I’ve had very little stamping for you this week, but I just had the other projects (that you can’t see until later if you are an SCS Fan Club Member – and if you’re not, you should be) to get done.

I’ll be back tomorrow with some new and fun stamping for you!

I just placed my first order out of the 2007 Stampin’ UP! Fall-Winter Collection. Many of you have asked what is on my wish list (as I posted earlier here on the blog). Well, here’s my first order:

Dog-Gone It
Garden Whimsey
Whimsey Jumbo Wheel
Priceless
So Swirly Jumbo Wheel
Wanted
Bronc Buster
Outlaw DP
Le Jardin DP
Scallop Punch (getting a little tired of cutting that medallion out by hand from Baroque Motifs)
All the new In-Color Ribbon

I chose Oh, So Lovely as my hostess set and my free items were the Priceless Brass Template and a Signo White Gel Pen (can never have enough of those).

Now, I will patiently stalk Mr. Brown!

I have no stamping again today, and I apologize profusely. But let me share with you some marvelous cards that I’ve recently received!

This one by Joanne Grzelak (jojot on Splitcoast) is just so pretty! It’s in blues that I love and the butterfly image is just fabulous. Of course, Joanne always writes the sweetest notes!

When I was off traveling to Orlando, my sorority sisters (Sigma Phi Gamma, Delta Phi Chapter) were traveling to Portland, Maine for our International Convention. When I returned home from Florida, this card was waiting for me. Stamped by my best friend, Bad Bev, I find it so absolutely perfect for the occasion. It was signed by all my sisters at Convention.

Now for the topper! Once again I found myself taking part in the Twisted and Demented Swap on SCS. Love these swaps and always love to see what others come up with. Carole Burrage (TruCarMa on Splitcoast) was not in my group, but we decided to swap cards. I think this is one of the funniest cards I have ever seen and the combination of the background paper with the image and sentiment is just so creative, twisted, demented and truly perfect!

I LOVE receiving fun mail!
