Oh my Badness! I am so sorry. We have been so busy and I was so exhausted I crashed and burned. Jeanne said I was snoring before my head even hit the pillow and that was after five cups of coffee.

We are having a wonderful time, albeit busy. Kitties and I met up in Phoenix to fly the last leg in together and we landed Saturday around 3:00 PST. We have been running since. Saturday night after dinner we attended the Splitcoaststampers Reception. WOW is all I can say! I stood back at one point, looked around the room – there was sooooooooo much talent assembled in one place!

Dirty Girls

Needless to say, I didn’t get my camera out, by Kittie’s did. She has posted some pictures of the Dirty Dozen, past and current, that were assembled that night – HOLY MOLY!

Jeanne, Trudee, Kittie, Me

I can’t tell you how much fun I had meeting all these wonderful women who have so inspired me over the years! I can’t believe I finally got to meet Trudee! Love these girls!!!!

Yesterday we started out early, arriving at CHA a little after 9:00. We walked and we walked till our feet hurt and we couldn’t walk no more! The total highlight of the day for me — Getting to meet Tim Holtz!

Tim Holtz

This picture was just about the time I leaned over and told him WHY they call me BadSherry.

I also met the most fascinating designer yesterday. Judi Hodgkin who has a new line of paper with Product Performers, ScrapperDashery. This paper is matched to all the Adirondack inks, and is absolutely fabulous. I was able to get a picture of her with a mini book and a letter that she had made. I so need to try and make one of these books.

Judi Hodgkin

I hate to admit it, but we missed one of the gatherings we really wanted to attend on Sunday night. By the time we had finished dinner and headed back to our hotel, all we wanted was coffee and to get off our feet.

Even though I’m writing this all at one time, I’m going to break it down into segments. There is so much going on here in the background that I can’t keep focus. I need to regroup and start all over.

It’s – WOO HOO and I’m CHA bound! I leave tomorrow and can’t wait to meet up with Jeanne, Kittie, Tosha and Dave. To top it all off, Linda Duke is gonna be hanging with us too. As a matter of fact, I get to meet up with Kittie on the plane. She will be joining me in Phoenix and we’ll be flying the last leg together!!! I’m saving the seat, Kittie’s bringing the salads. There is so much to do while we are there, and I will be blogging every day. I’m hoping to get my first post in tomorrow night after we’ve settled in. That is, if I’m not too tired from the flight and the events planned for tomorrow evening.

Thank you all for the replies on my product question. I had no idea that so many of you liked seeing the photos! I was amazed at all the positive responses. Because of the overwhelming positive responses, the product photos will stay. The only time they may not be there is when I’ve made a card well in advance of posting and am not in a situation to recreate the product.

I’ve been trying to get some samples together to take with me, and my card today is one of those samples. Rubbernecker, even though they are not exhibiting at CHA, will be at the Heirloom’s San Mateo Rubber Stamps & Paper Arts Festival on February 15th and 16th. Since Jeanne and I will still be in California, we’ll be working that show with Dave. I don’t think Dave realizes what he’s gotten himself into!!!

The edges of the image were sponged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Ranger Liquid Pearls were used on the scalloped circle. The piece of green designer paper was cut with Fiskars Scalloped Edged Scissors. All designer paper was sewn to background layers on the sewing machine.

Teddy Product

Well, I’m off now to get the last minute essentials and finish packing! Oops, also have to get the books off Mallory’s bed before she gets home next weekend! Part of the destruction I made with the Rubber Room Remodel.

Happy Wednesday! We have the wildest storms last night. I was just getting ready to wind my day up and head off to bed, when the tornado warning came across the television screen. I had no idea the weather was like it was! I had been down stamping some and when I came up I turned on the Hallmark Channel. It wasn’t too long after I saw the warning on television, that the tornado siren at the end of my street sounded. I love to watch storms! I love the lightening, the wind, the rain – they just fascinate me. But last night, for the first time in years, I had a funny gut feeling. After the second siren sounded, I pulled the pups out of the kennel and we went to the basement. They were a little scared too and we all huddled together under blankets watching the local news. Finally about 12:30 a.m., our tornado warning expired and there was an all clear. Thankfully we escaped any damage. Others to the southwest of us were not so lucky.

I don’t know what came over me. Maybe it was the thought that my girls aren’t here and I was worried about them – I don’t know! But I’ve not had a feeling like that since Kate and Mallory were very young. I used to send them to the basement to play trying not to scare them, and then I would stand at the window and watch the storm. Not last night!

Anyhoo, I’m not going to have time this morning, if at all, to get to today’s Sketch Challenge. Today’s is my mother’s birthday – – and we are supposed to go to lunch and then I NEED to shop for my trip to CHA.

While I was working with Far East from Lizzie Anne Designs over the weekend, I did make another card that I can share with you today.

Friends Always

The lotus flowers were stamped on white cardstock in Aspen Mist and then the design was over stamped with Niagara Mist. I cut the flowers out and placed them individually on a piece of vanilla cardstock, that the edges had been sponged with Niagara Mist. The edges of all the designer paper were sponged in Niagara Mist and the sentiment was stamped in Espresso. The designer paper layers were sewn to a background panel and then put on the card front.

Stamps: Far East by Lizzie Anne Designs

For those of you who like to see the product, here’s the photo. I often wonder if you like me showing a picture of the product. There are times I feel that it might be overload and then I think that I personally would love to see what is being talked about. I would love to hear your thoughts on this. Do you like the product photo or would you prefer not to have it?

The image was stamped in Adirondack Pitch Black ink and then colored with Copic Markers. I trimmed it out, wanting the images outside the frame to really show. The image itself is raised on mounting tape and then the layers behind it are raised from the background. All the edges of the background paper were sponged with Vintage Photo distress ink.

Good Monday morning! I hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoyed the Super Bowl Game. The kids came in and watched the game, while doing their homework. They also brought my cabinet from the river. It needs a coat of paint but in order to get things organized before I leave next Saturday, I went ahead and loaded in the SU stamps.

China Cabinet

Anyhoo, you can see how it is going to look in the room. If I remember correctly, my mother used this cabinet as a china cabinet when we were younger. My sister, Carrie, tried to climb it and it fell on top of her. I don’t think she was hurt and I can’t remember if anything was broken. Maybe she’ll chime in here and let us all know!

On an exciting note today, Rubbernecker Stamp Company announced the January winner of the $100 Rubbernecker Bucks yesterday. CONGRATULATIONS KELLY FIGLEY OF NEW CASTLE, PA!!!!!

I checked out the Try a New Technique Challenge on Splitcoast this morning and even though it looks like a fun one, I just don’t have time to participate today. However, I do have some stamping to share with you. One of the new sets released by Lizzie Anne Designs recently is Far East. I have to say I absolutely love this set. Luckily I still had some BasicGrey Blush left and it all goes so well together.

Far East Cherry Blossoms

I cut the ovals out with Nestabilities first, and then stamped the tree branch in Jumbo Java on Very Vanilla cardstock. The flowers were stamped over the dots on the branch in Pixie Petunia. I eyeballed them, which is why they are a little off-center in some spots. Not only that, but the final version was maybe the fifth try. The card is 4 x 6.5 and will fit in a standard letter size envelope. I don’t know why I didn’t think about using the square Nesties to cut out the layered scallop, probably because I have just started using them more. Next time I’ll remember!

Stamps: Far East from Lizzie Anne Designs

Paper: SU Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip, Prism Island Mist Light, BasicGrey Blush

Ink: VersaMagic Pixie Petunia and Jumbo Java

Accessories: Nestabilities, Fiskars Cloud Edged Scissors, Ribbon, Mounting Tape

Here’s the product I used to make the card.

Feb 3 Product

If anyone knows where I can get a good deal on Nestabilities, I would love to hear about it. I need to add to my collection.
