Ahoy ye mateys, it’s TREASURE HUNT TUESDAY @ RUBBERNECKER. If you are new to the Treasure Hunt, you can find the first clue and all the deets for playing along on the Rubbernecker Home Page. I’m very pleased to say, that Linda Duke has agreed to join our Design Team as a permanent member, and she is offering up some Rubbernecker Bucks on her blog, Linda’s Works of Heart, today. Not only does Linda have Rubbernecker Bucks for you, but so do I!

In order to win, leave a comment here on this post, telling me what you’re favorite style and/or technique of stamping is. I personally love to distress or to ink my image, mist it water and then stamp. Is there a name for that? I’ll announce the winner on Wednesday morning.

Don’t forget that the Treasure Hunt runs from 4:00 a.m. PST until 9:00 p.m PST (7:00 a.m. EST – 12:00 a.m. EST). I’ll be back a little later with my color challenge card, hopefully. I still need to finish weeding the flower beds that I started yesterday. I also started digging up some Hostas that have been planted along the front walk and are now being choked out by the ground cover. I have two more to go and since today is supposed to be beautiful, I’m going to try and spend the better part of the day outside.

  1. Morning Sherrie – Linda Duke? Man, your DT just grows and grows with the best of the best. Congrats to Linda and your team on a great choice!

  2. Good morning!! My favorite technique…..really need to think about this. I have always enjoyed the shabby look and haven’t used it too much myself but am trying more. Keep up your great work….I need the inspiration!

  3. Hi Sherry…this is my first treasure hunt and I’m ready to find my way to the prize! 🙂 My favorite technique has to be heat embossing because it adds so much, with just a little bit of effort. Thanks for the chance to win!

  4. Hi Sherry! I will try my “no luck” again today. Pick me, I can spend $10 without batting an eye!!

  5. I am loving H2Os lately. I guess watercoloring would be my favorite thing.

  6. Good morning! I seem to do a lot of coloring in outline stamps either with color pencils, ink or WC crayons.

  7. I just love your blog! Thanks for sharing some insight into your life. My favorite technique is one I’ve learned how to do from Michelle zindorf. Stamp/emboss with clear EP to create a resist when brayering on a background.

  8. Hello there! I did not have a hard time thinking about this – I love to WATERCOLOR. I find it very relaxing! Thanks for the chance to win.

  9. I’m not sure I have a favorite technique. I love to try everything (at least once!). I think silhouette stamping probably would be one of my favorites.

  10. My favorite technique is going overboard. I always seem to do just a little too much. I love distressing and the “grunge” look but then I love bling too. I just can’t help myself — so many stamps, tools, embellishments to choose from how can a girl choose?

PS — Rec’d my first Rubbernecker order yesterday containing last week’s treasure hunt prize — love it! Thanks for turning me on to Rubbernecker.

  11. Welllllll (here goes my sad attempt at winning…..again…..favorite techniqe….hmmmm….any type of coloring (I LOOOVE to color and still buy myself coloring books!)
If your hostas need a new home, you can plant them in my courtyard!! Have a nice shady area that is needing some!!

  12. I have to choose just one..hmph. Ok, right now my fav is paper piecing.

  13. I seem to be embosing a lot all the sudden. I’ve always loved to emboss, and now I’m doing it a lot more.
Thanks for the chance to win!

  14. I love a simple, clean style. I find my that my style is very linear. I do, however, love to color and blend with my Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol! Watercoloring has been on my to-try list, too, but I need lots of practice! THanks for sharing 🙂

  15. Right now I am liking “Rock and Roll”.
Thanks for this chance to win.

  16. Well Miss Badness, my favorite technique is embossing — I just love seeing the powders melt! Pick me, pick me, my wish list is too long! 🙂 Mary

  17. I don’t have a fav style or technique yet… i am still learning 🙂

  18. Hi, Sherrie………..It’s really hard to narrow it down to just one technique (!), but, I really seem to be drawn to color-blocking………this design always catches my attention………and I really enjoy working with this particular layout.

  19. My favorite would have to be heat embossing…Thanks so much for the chance to win! And congrats to Linda!

  20. Hello!!! I really don’t have one style that is a favorite. I’m just in on coloring in images and layering right now…Thanks for the marvelous chance…Kathy Hering…

  21. I love emboss resist and cracked glass techniques, although I rarely have the patience or energy to do them much.

  22. Sherry,

I’m not sure I could pick one technique. Right now I am loving stamps and inks on glossy that then transfer over to paper to make backgrounds. It’s a really cool process! As for the bucks, let me just say that Rubbernecker Stamps are among my favorites!

  23. Gee, I would say coloring w/Copics or watercolors.

  24. I would have to say watercolors!… I started painting with watercolors in highschool and have adapted it to papercrafting- I loved how smooth they are, and how no 2 images will be the same 🙂

  25. I’m loving watercolors right now!

  26. Hi Sherry – If I had to pick just one technique, I guess I’d go with watercloring. It just transforms a simple black ink outlined image into something that pops and is unique. I love checking out other stampers’ blogs to see how they use watercolors on their cards.

  27. Dear Miss *Copic Queen*

I have a humble question to ask of you. I have some Copic Ciaos , Blush is what I thought would work for skin and it is way to pink.

Soooo, what do I need to get for some real looking skin?

Thank you very kindly – Karen

  28. My favorite technique right now….anything clean & simple. I was addicted to distressing. I distressed everything! Now, all of a sudden I like clean & simple. There is no rhyme or reason to my likings.

  29. Hey Sherry ~ this is truely a tough one for me to answer, as there are lots of bits and pieces of various techniques that I enjoy, but honestly ownly a few I’m really good at 🙂 Therefore, I will say my favorite *technique* is watercolouring using markers 🙂

Fortunately for me, we, as in Canadians, have this amazing teacher and stamp designer ~Sunshine Designs~ who has really made this technique her own and she lives in Ontario, Canada! WoooHooo ! Which means I can reach her classes and try to absorb all her ideas, techniques, and magic that she creates with just a little water, marker, and paint brush.

Ohhhhh and before I forget, her name is Krista Schneider =)

  30. I love heat embossing it just adds something to the card. It also helps me to color in better too.

  31. Right now I am addicted to sewing on cards…..what a challege cos my Sew mini is SOOOOO not wanting to cooperate!!!!! Hey, how is your trigger finger? Did you get it looked at? Hope it is all better!!
