The other day, I received a message on my blog from Carolyn Bounds. Carolyn’s Blog is P.M.S. etc. (or Papers, Markers, Stamps, etc.) hehe great blog name isn’t it? Carolyn selected my blog as one of her favorites, and awarded me this:

I Love Your Blog Award

I have to say that I was so honored and jumping for joy that I was listed on Carolyn’s blog with all those other great blogs she mentioned. She also led me on an inspiration journey when I went to look at all the listed blogs. Thank you Carolyn!

It is now my turn to indicate which blogs are some of my favorites and award them with the “I Love Your Blog” logo. But first, I need to post the rules:

1. The winner can put the logo on their blog
2. Link the person you received your award from
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls or boys you’ve nominated.

Now, for my choices. If you have already been given this award once, well . . . just know that I draw inspiration from you every day! These are in no particular order mind you, just a list I made of the stampers who inspire me on a daily basis!

Cindy Lyles – StarLit Studio, for your style and creative use of embellishments.

Anna Wight – Sassy & Sweet
, for the enjoyment you give me with your marvelous creations and your stories and pictures of “life on the ranch.”

Debbie Olson – Thinking Inking
, for the inspiration you give me each and every day with your creativeness.

Leslie Miller – Running with Scissors, for the inspiration you have always given me, your wonderful creations and for sharing your gardens, which someday I hope to see in person.

JanTink – Stamps, Paper, Scissors
, for the laughs and giggles you have given me over the years with your stories and wild ramblings.

Wendy Vecchi – Studio 490, for your incredible style and work.

Pam Hooten – Iris Garden, for the inspiration you give me with each project and your incredible use of embellishments.

So there are my seven stampers who inspire me to keep working on my craft and to have fun when doing it! Thank you all!

Well hello there! I hope you’ve all had a great weekend so far and are staying cool. It’s a little warm here in my part of the Ohio Valley – I believe they said it was 85 degrees at midnight last night. Makes it a little hard to breathe when you are outside, and these darn little shitz of mine insist on going for walks at the hottest part of the day! Oh well, the life of a grandmother – anything to make the babies happy (and no accidents on the rug too)!

I’ve been approached this morning from a reader about doing some twisted and demented cards! Now how fun is that . . . Nancy said she had an idea, I LOVED it, and when I asked her how she wanted to proceed, she said she had no idea and thought she would start with the “Queen of Twisted and Demented,” her Royal Badness. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Smiley from millan.net So after giving it some thought and emailing back and forth, I’ve decided that some T&D every so often would be fun. Here’s what I’m gonna do . . . . (drum roll)

Once a month I’m going to post a Twisted and Demented Challenge right here on my blog! I’ll come up with a keyword for you to use in your online galleries, and then ask that you post a link back here on my blog. Who knows, there might be some fun Tawdry Treats tossed around too! Start telling all the Twisted and Demented Sisters to get ready . . . the first challenge will be coming at you on Wednesday this week! Here’s a little hint — it has to do with socks! Anyone want to take a guess? This was Nancy’s idea and we are going to run with it! Smiley from millan.net

I have been organizing my unmounted stamps for the last few days. Shelly decided that she couldn’t help me with that – bummer! Because of the chaos and mess this has caused in the studio, I didn’t get to stamp yesterday. In the mood for a little fun and carefree stamping this morning, I headed over to SCS to see who the Featured Stamper was today. Scrolling through kokirose’s gallery, I saw a card that I absolutely loved the colors of, the layout – well just everything about it! I had to play.

So, here’s my card for today’s Featured Stamper Challenge, cased from this card of kokirose. Of course, I changed the stamps, and the colors of cardstock, but I kept the same basic sketch.

The first thing I did, was swipe some Distress Pads on my craft sheet, misted it with water, and swiped a piece of white cardstock through it. I added more color by blending in the different inks from the edges of paper. After my color was down, I misted it again with water and then ironed it with an old steam iron I have started to use in my crafting. Of course, I did turn off the steam – don’t use steam! After it was dry, I scored 1″ squares using my new Scor-Pal (woo hoo gotta love this tool) and then stamped my images. French Script was first, the ferns second and then the silhouette. After all the stamping was done, I gave the entire panel a light misting of Scattered Straw Reinker/Gold Perfect Pearls/Water mixture (“pearlized-distress” mist).
