Good morning!  Well . . . when I went to check on the theme for this month’s Stamp Simply Ribbon Store Blog Hop (as I’m writing this), Spring Flowers.  Okay I didn’t quite stick with the theme . . . I painted geraniums . . . . not quite Spring flowers but at least they’re flowers!

I also posted yesterday that the hop is tomorrow . . . WRONG!  It’s today!  Crazy and hectic  . . . what can I say?

There is blog candy today which is posted on Sharon’s blog.  Make sure you visit all designers’ blogs and leave comments, because we never know which blog the winner will be pulled from.  Sharon picks a number which is the blog and then she picks a second number, which is the comment on that blog.  It’s always a surprise!  So the more places your comment, the better chances you have.  The Designers participating today are:

Sharon Johnson – Stamp Simply Ribbon Store blog

Here’s my project today.

The sentiment and image was embossed in gold on watercolor paper.  The image was then water colored with Distress Ink.  I used multiple Spellbinders™ Dies to layer the image, raising the top panel with foam mounting tape.  I don’t know why I got stuck on this color combination, but after I laid it all out on my desk I really liked it.   All the background papers were sewn to a panel of light tan and then the edges of everything were sponged with Old Paper.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember . . . life is short, enjoy the adventures of the day!

Smiley from millan.net Good Monday morning!  I hope y’all had a great weekend and the weather was sunny and warm were you are.  It most definitely was here . . . gotta love it!Smiley from millan.net

So . . . I found out Friday that I have to have a sample of my class project for StampFest Orlando done basically today!  I’m working on it, but it might be tomorrow.  I had a plan but due to unforeseen circumstances, it kinda fell through the cracks, so I started scrambling over the weekend to pull an idea out of thin air.  I remembered that my friend, Kat, had posted what she called a Chunky Tag.  I was so inspired by it, that I emailed her about me teaching it at Orlando  . . .  guess what my class is . . . . Chunky Tag Art!Smiley from millan.net

Basically, the tag is a 2×4 cut to the size of a manila shipping tag which is roughly 6” long.  Chunky ATC’s are all the rage so a tag is not that unreasonable.  I wanted to test before I actually started my main project so I used a piece of 2×4 I had cut from my 6” block.  This one is 1.5×3.5 so it’s smaller than an ATC and it’s larger than a moo . . . thus a mini tag!

As we go around the project, it’s telling a story.  Here’s the front

Here’s a close-up of the flower so you can see the stamping and sanding.  I wish you could see the two colors of paper better . . .  I can see now that in my true sample, I need make the paper in the flower contrast more.

That’s all I have for now . . .  I need to head into the studio and work on the big sample.  I also need to make something for this Wednesday’s Stamp Simply Ribbon Store blog hop . . . Did I tell you that I was behind?  Smiley from millan.net So far behind that I can see myself up ahead and my hair (what I have) is on fire!

Thanks for stopping into the BAD Side today and remember  . . .  life is short, enjoy the adventures the day brings you!  AND yes, that’s why I’m behind . . . I had a last minute adventure with my mother on Saturday . . .  we packed up the rest of Kate’s stuff at the river house and moved it to the garage for her.  I’m thinking that now that the river house is empty, it might be the perfect place to hold classes!  hehehe my mother would faint if I even suggested it . . .  oh momma?

Smiley from millan.net Good Friday morning!  I can’t believe I haven’t been in the studio all week.  Okay wait, I take that back!  I was in there Wednesday when I prepped and packed up for my last class at Lavender SentimentsLavender Sentiments is closing and I’ve enjoyed my classes so much, that I’ve decided to have them here in my home!  If you are in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, KY area and want some info on the classes, send me an email.  I’ll add you to my mailing list!  I’ll be updating and changing my class page in the next day or so.

I also can’t  believe that we are already on the Just For Fun® 6th Color Challenge!  I think we are picking up new players each week and I for one have enjoyed seeing all your cards  . . . way too much fun!  Let’s see what you can do with these!

I was a little apprehensive about these colors, but I’ve got to tell  . . . I really liked working with them!

JFFCC6April9

The first thing I did was pick my designer paper (Pink Paislee 365 Degrees) then picked my image.  I colored the image with markers, misted with water, stamped on white, then die cut/embossed with Spellbinders™ S4-140 Petite Ovals – Small.  My background image, Grain & Coal, was stamped in Pumice Stone Distress Ink on a white shipping tag then die/cut embossed with Spellbinders™ S4-202 Deckled Rectangles – Large.  The frame around the image was made with Spellbinders™ S4-246 Labels 11.  The edges of all paper were sponged with Old Paper Distress Ink.

Make sure you stop by the other JFF Designers participating today and leave them a little lovin’.  I know they love comments as much as I do!
