Hey y’all!  I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty tired of all this rain.  I was curled up on the bed this afternoon with one pup lying on my pillow and the other under the bed.   Neither of them like thunderstorms!

Yesterday I started a card that I’ve been wanting to do forever.  It’s actually a remake of one I’ve made a couple of times . . . . I guess you could say I cased myself.  How many of you remember this card?

AND then there was this remake for the SCS Dirty Dozen Gallery . . .

For the last few years I’ve been wondering how Ethel would look with all the little peckers.  Well, with the recent release of Spring Inchies by Rubbernecker Stamps I finally had the perfect little birds.  I have to say that I quite like Ethel and her little peckers!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I have Stamp Club tomorrow and then have to meet with mom to talk about Kate’s graduation party.  Thanks for stopping by!

Good Monday morning!  I hope y’all had a great weekend and that you had nice weather to get out and enjoy.  We sure did here in my little neck of the woods.  Saturday was a hectic day, but Sunday was nice and relaxing.  I ventured into the studio shortly after the race started and worked until it was over.  I had an idea for a specific project, but the minute I sat at my work table I knew what I had to do . . . . Max was sitting on my table, enjoying his martini!

My mother has been asking me for some “Max” cards for some time now.  Surely you know Max . . .  the frog in the martini glass from Sparkle and Sprinkle.  I gave her one I made a couple of years ago and I think she sent it this year.  I did two for her yesterday . . . one green and one pink.  Someone had sent me a Max card one year and Max was pink and way too adorable.  So . . . . one pink Max.

Green Martini Frog

Here’s the story with the above card.  A couple of years ago I was out on the river with some girlfriends.  We went down the creek to a package store and they had mango martinis in a box.  WOO HOO . . . . the box was great.  We could take the bag out, toss the box and the bag could be put in a cooler on the boat.  We went across river, pulled up in mom’s docks, and urged her to come out with us.  Of course, we treated her to mangotini’s.

Here is mom’s pink Max.  I don’t know what type of martini it is in the glass, but I know it is good!  There is no bad martini!

Both cards are pretty much the same with the exception of the colors, so I’m lumping all the deets together.

Good Friday morning!   Smiley from millan.net   First things first.  The Rubbernecker Blog Stroll goes until noon today.  If you haven’t taken the stroll and celebrated with the Red-Hot Mommas you still have time!  It has been such a joy working with Kittie’s new releases, Kittie Kits “Cause a Scene” – Country Life!  I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the Country Life Scenes and seeing what the other Red-Hot Mommas have done with them.  Quite frankly, they have outdone themselves!  Way to go girls!! Smiley from millan.net

I was so busy yesterday behind the scenes, that I wasn’t going to stamp last night and just relax.  THEN, after dinner an amazing thing happened  . . . I had a brainstorm!  You don’t even have to ask, YES it hurt!

Before I tell you my idea, I will warn you  . . . Smiley from millan.net alert.

There I was lolling on the couch getting ready to watch Survivor when it hit me!  I could take the rooster from the Chicken Coop Scene and make a birthday card.  Not just any birthday card, but one that you could add a little humor too.  Are you ready?

KKitsRoosterHappyBirthday

Now here’s where it gets tricky . . . on the inside you could write:  Shake Your Tail Feathers, Strut your Stuff, You’re still Cock of the Walk, Cluck You, COCK-a-doodle-doo, You old Cock, Cluck Off  . . . well, I’m sure you get the idea!  Anything you can imagine will work!

Here’s what was used in the making of this card:

  • Stamps:  Kittie Kit Cause a Scene Chicken Coop SKU:KKCS S007 and Kittie Kit Cause a Scene Out Door Master SKU:KKCS M001; and Happy Birthday, USA Sentiment; all from Rubbernecker Stamps
  • Paper:  Prism Tawny Medium and Crabapple Dark; 7 Gypsies Gypsy Market; Strathmore Watercolor
  • Ink:  Ranger Archival Jet Black and Walnut Stain, Vintage Photo, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint, Antique Linen, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany, Faded Jeans and Broken China Distress
  • Accessories:  Spellbinders Small and Large Deckled Edged Rectangles and Large Petite Oval Nestabilities; Ranger Glossy Accents; Venture Foam Tape, Tsukineko Sponge Dauber; Koi Water Brushes; May Arts Ribbon; Vintage Button, Brads

I suppose that’s all for today.  Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

Happy Tuesday!  I took the day off yesterday and did some organizing in the studio.  I let my mother, aunt and sister go through all my extra cards Sunday and I had a few left over that I wanted to organize into categories and keep.  I also got energetic and labeled all my Copic markers.

Now that my studio is clean and little better organized, I really wanted to stamp this morning.  I thought that one of the images from There She Goes would be fun today and that’s were I headed . . . right to the potty humor!

HomeGrownApril14

The image was colored with markers and Koi water brushes.  I also haven’t used my Cuttlebug Embossing Folders for quite awhile and decided I needed to that as well.  Not much more to tell here, except that I truly needed something fun today!

  • Stamps:  Tastes Like Chicken from There She Goes
  • Paper:  Canson Watercolor; SU Basic Black; Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
  • Ink:  Ranger Archival Jet Black
  • Accessories:  Cuttlebug D’vine Swirls Embossing Folder; Koi Water Brush; Ranger Inkssentials White Opaque Pen and Glossy Accents; Venture Foam Tape; Scallop Border and Small and Large Oval Punches; Brads; Ribbon

Thanks for spending a little time on the BAD Side and I hope you are having a fabulous day!

Smiley from millan.net Morning all!  I hope everyone had a terrific day yesterday.  I unpacked from my Dallas Adventure, sorted laundry and generally got caught up on things.

Just before I left for Dallas, Jessica Knutsen, owner and creator of There She Goes Clear Stamps, emailed me and asked if I would be the April Guest Designer for her.  Now typically when someone contacts me like this, the stamp set must be hilarious and one Her Royal Badness would love.  Jessica emailed me a photo of the Tastes Like Chicken set and I knew immediately that I had to work with it.

I’m sorry I missed the Blog Hop with the other girls on the team, but being in Dallas cut my time in preparing.  Anyhoo, here’s my first card from Tastes Like Chicken!

possumtheotherwhitemeatapril2.jpg

I water colored the possum with Ranger Distress Reinkers and then cut the image and panel behind it out with Spellbinders Petite Oval Nestabilities.  The sentiment tag is cut from Spellbinders Round Top Tag Shapeabilities.  All the edges were sponged with SU Basic Gray.  To attach the sentiment, I found an old black button in my stash and sewed it to the tag with DMC floss.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a fabulous day!
