Good morning everyone! I’m heading out today for Orlando Stampfest 2007. My flight arrives in Orlando at 3:00 and my roomie for the week, Jeanne Strieff, arrives at 4:30. We will be greeted at the airport by none other than Kim van der Sanden, owner of My Favorite Things. I can’t wait to meet these wonderful ladies. There are so many SCS members that I am hoping to meet while there, and do plan on having dinner with Kittie747 one night. I’ve been wanting to meet Kittie for a long time now and can’t wait to meet one of the most dearest and sweetest people I had the pleasure to get to know on SCS.

So stay tuned, I do plan on daily updates from Orlando — When you can drag me out of Kim’s stamp room!

After a very busy weekend I found a little stamp time last night. It was late albeit, but stamp time anyway. I spent the early afternoon shopping for clothes to take to Florida, and when I got in, I found that the puppy had gotten into some paper in the studio and chewed the packaging. So, needless to say, I had to do a little reorganizing while I was doing laundry. When it was all said and done, I had a clean studio and the ink was beginning to filter through the air and stamps calling out. What was a girl to do, but stamp!

While I was contemplating what to do, it occurred to me that another sample using Hot Stuff from My Favorite Things wouldn’t hurt a bit. Since I am going to the Stampfest in Orlando, and I am going down to meet Kim of MFT, and I do have a bag of sample cards to take to her, one more wouldn’t hurt! All the background stamping is done with MFT Behind the Scenes. The black scalloped circles and ribbon slider are made with the Cuttlebug.

Thanks a Latte 6-18

About a month ago I got an email from one of my Twisted Sisters. Now the Twisted Sisters are a group of SU Demos on Splitcoast that jump start our stamping by looking at different ways to use our stamps. I had foregone the swapping for awhile, and when I got that email, I just couldn’t resist to at least take one spot in Round 5. I just love the Twisted and Demented Swap. Customers love to look at them and it really makes one step outside the box and makes you look at stamps in a whole new light. I have to admit that this card isn’t the most twisted, but I was working with very few sets that were not retiring.

I can’t believe I finally stamped a few cards tonight. I’ve been so busy this week getting the remainder of my projects done for the Dirty Dozen Gallery that I’ve left a few things slide. I also haven’t felt well part of this week so I was a little surprised when I got a second wind and hit the studio tonight.

I wanted to finish up some cards with the new Fright Night set from My Favorite Things, and I’m pleased with the way they turned out. Both the images were colored with Copic ciao markers, which I’m still learning how to use. The polka dots on the Happy Haunting card are one of the backgrounds from the MFT Behind the Scenes set. They are simple cards actually, black and white with just the coloring of the image and some hint of color in the ribbon.

Ghoulish Greetings

Happy Haunting

I finally got myself up and moving this evening and got a card completed. I ran errands all day yesterday and then had some appointments this morning, so my stamping time the last couple of days has been almost nonexistent. Anyhoo, My Favorite Things released some new sets today and after looking at the Sketch Challenge on SCS, I knew that one of the images in the new Fright Night set would be perfect.

Fright Night

I colored the image with Copic Ciao Markers and then drew some squiggles around the image and sentiment. When trying to find some DP to go with this image, I found that I had no Halloween DP. I decided to stamp some panels and had them setting out on the counter ready to assemble the card when I remembered I had some BasicGrey Color Me Silly left. I dug through some BasicGrey scraps and found some that I thought would look fun with this image.
