RN 10 Buck

What, you ask? Well I don’t know yet. Maybe today’s Color Challenge Card (that I still have to complete – but only if I like the colors), maybe some ribbon, maybe some extra rubber I’ve got tucked away! All I know is, I’m gonna add a little something to the package this week.

How do you win? Leave me a comment and tell me what your most dreaded household chore is! I spent the day Monday doing mine — paying the bills! If it were as simple as writing out checks, I might be okay with it. But, I balance all the receipts with the ledgers, blah blah blah. I’ll announce the winner tomorrow morning.

Not only do I have Tawdry Treats, but some of the other members of the Rubbernecker Design Team, are also offering up Blog Candy. If you don’t want to you need to sail on over to:

Jeanne’s Blog, Inky Paws

Shelly’s Blog, Stamp with Shelly

or

Candy’s Blog, Candy’s Land (and by the way, Candy has the first clue in today’s Treasure Hunt too)

where they’ll be waiting to give you a great big

So anyhoo, I’ll be back a little later with my Color Challenge Card, that is if I like the colors, and if not a Challenge Card, I have an idea in mind that I must try!

As promised, here is my Color Challenge Card for today. The colors are SU So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Purely Pomegranate. I don’t know what got into me, but I quickly scanned the other uploads, and decided that I really didn’t want to do a cutesy card today. What I did want to show you however, was how to use the same colors, but make them look different.

CC156 Product

I’m going to show you the products used first, so you know where I am coming from. If you figure it out, let me know too! With the exception of the SU products, you can find everything at My Favorite Products.

CC156 Remake

I started this card with two 5.5 x 4.25 sheets of So Saffron paper. I misted them both with Dried Marigold/Copper Shimmer Mist, and let them dry. On one sheet, I stamped the heart image in Walnut Stain Distress Ink and tore out the image leaving frayed edges. Using a sponge dauber I began to work the same distress ink in toward the center of the heart, causing the edges to curl and give them some dimension. On the other sheet of So Saffron, I stamped the flair image in Walnut Stain and then sponged the edges with the same ink. Using VersaMark and Ranger UTEE, I covered the heart with three layers of the UTEE, heat setting between each layer. Once it was cool to touch, I placed the heart image in the freezer for a few minutes to harden the UTEE. Once I took it out of the freezer, and bent the image, it cracked so nicely. At this point I tried misting the Cracked Glass with the Shimmer Mist thinking it might go into the cracks, but that was a worthless step. I ended up wiping it all off and rubbing the Walnut Stain Distress Ink directly onto the image, concentrating on the deeper cracks, and then wiped off the excess.

I’m sure you are asking by now, where is the Wild Wasabi? Well, it is on the Grunge Board key and hinge. I inked both pieces with Wild Wasabi, highlighted the swirls in the Grunge with Walnut Stain Distress Ink, and then misted them both with the same Shimmer Mist that I used on the So Saffron paper. I brought in the Purely Pomegranate as my background piece for the heart and for the card base itself. All these edges were also sponged with Walnut Stain. Once I had attached the hinge using brads, I used a small hammer to pound them a little for dents and distressing.

These colors are not what I would have chosen for this card. I’m sure I will remake it with the colors I first had in mind when I initially thought of this idea.

  2. My most dreaded household chores are in this order:

    unloading dishwasher
    folding clothes
    mopping

Hate them all…would much rather stamp!!!

    [email protected]

  3. My most dreaded chore is putting away laundry. I don’t mind doing it – or even folding it – but I don’t want to put it away. That and hanging up clothes I have worn! lol

  4. I hate doing laundry…mine will overflow the hamper into the floor before I finally get around to it. My second most hated is dusting…it seems so pointless because even minutes after you dust new dust can be settling in….and maybe no one else notices it much but I do. ARGH!!
Thanks for the chance at blog candy and keep up the fab work…you are so very inspiring! Bad girl that you are 🙂

  5. It has to be the laundry for me. sorting, washing, drying, folding, sorting, putting away… too many things. By the time I finish there is at least a loads worth waiting.

  6. That is easy folding and doing laundry….

  7. I hate cleaning the bathroom – especially the tub and shower! UGH! But sometimes dh will help me with the tub and shower, so then it is not nearly as bad. Thanks so much for the chance to win!!!! I absolutely love your blog (and your work!)!!!

  8. I TRUELY dread it all!! LOL….I am sooo not the “wonderful” housewife!! Bathrooms~ 2 boys, 1 dh….enough said…laundry~hate whites…trying to match up all those socks and putting things away….Dusting~ Why did I think having so many windows (with blinds) would be wonderful?! Kitchen~get it cleaned and someone always wants to eat and mess it up again!! Grocery shopping….grrrrrr

  9. I daycare for a living! I dread cleaning the bathroom! I never knew pee could land in so many different places! LOL Yuck!

  10. My most dreaded chose is cleaning the bathroom, too! Hate doing it! I usually try to get hubby to do it. 😉

  11. I must admit I really don’t do many household chores. Hubby takes care of almost all of them (including laundry)! So I have it very easy at home. My least favorite though is definitely sorting through the mail and paying the bills!

  12. cleaning the bathroom and folding the laundry YUCK!! Thanx for the chance at the candy.

  13. I don’t really mind doing any of the household choirs, I just hate finishing them. All of them! I don’t like putting laundry away, I don’t like cleaning up after cooking, I don’t like taking the clean dishes out of the washer, I don’t like mopping after sweeping. I have no problem starting things…it’s just the finishing part that is a problem! Story of my life!

Thanks for the blog candy and for being so sweet to add some extra goodies!

  14. I hate cleaning toilets. Don’t mind laundry or dishes. Can’t say I like washing floors…but toilets are gross.

  15. I really don’t mind household chores since it is only my DH and I but I would have to say that mopping the floors. I probably should do it more often and it would be easier but that would take away from my stamping time! It just only looks good for a short while until DH and the dog come in and messes it up again!

  16. Worst chores:
Dishes, hanging up clothes, cleaning the toilets, and picking up toys…
Thanks for the chance at the awesome rubbernecker money!!!, Kathy Hering…

  17. My most dreaded house chore is putting away laundry I won’t mind washing it, folding it but I can’t stand putting it away. We tend to spend more time looking through baskets.

Tks for the chance of winning some rubbernecker money.

    Great blog btw

  18. Cleaning the kitchen! I’ve been doing some cracked glass lately. When I try to get color into the cracks it just made the image look muddy. I stopped trying that step!

  19. I’m gonna have to go with laundry…folding it and putting it away, yuck! I would rather clean the bathroom! thanks Sherry!

  20. Ohhh Sherry, this one is SO EASY for me! ha! I dread beyond nightmares, cleaning our upstairs shower ! BLECH BLECH BLECH! It makes me break out in a cold sweat just thinking of it :)~

The shower unit has glass doors surrounding the stall, and I was assured they are a breeze to clean when purchasing the unit … YA RIGHT !!!!!! They have all these nooks and crannied that you have to get in with a little brush to scrape and clean, and it just makes me ill.

YUCK YUCK YUCK! Next time anyone is having a new shower unit installed, ensure to research it from top to bottom, and look at all those little grooves and inlets, where all the soap and other *junk* hides.

Gee I feel sorry for myself just thinking of cleaning it!!!! haaaa !!!

  21. Love your card, Sherry. I hate cleaning. I know it wouldn’t be nearly as bad if I stayed on top of it, but I let it go and then it’s much more work – UGH!

  22. The worst chore has got to be cleaning the bathroom or bathrooms. It is really great having 3 of them but who wants to clean them!

  23. I HATE scrubbing the toilet and the shower! I put it off until I just HAVE to do it!

  24. Cleaning windows. Most of the other chores my kids can help out on but the windows are one things I pretty much have to do myself….and it seems like it takes forever.

  25. Most dreaded household chore……hmmmm, there are so many to choose from. I think top of the list is the bathtub & walls. My second is dusting. I just hate moving all the knick knacks. I usually just go around them but there comes a time when they do need to be moved. Thanks for the chance at the awesome rubbernecker $$$.

  26. Here is my list….

    1. Laundry, hate it!

    2. Cooking and cleaning the kitchen, hate cooking!!

    3. Grocery shopping, first you put it all in the cart…. then unload it on to the belt….. then load it back into the chart…..then load it all into the car…… then get home and unload it all and put it away!!! HATE IT!!!!!!

I could go on on but I’ll spare you all!!

    Fabulous card Sherry!!

  27. I hate cleaning the toilet!!! My hubby acts like he doesn’t know how so I’m always stuck doing it!!

  28. I guess I am out her alone, after reading the previous posts, but I love laundry, everything about it!! My most dreaded would be cleaning up the toliet. It is only me and my husband, but I swear he is like a 2 yr old who can’t hit the toliet, totally gross, so much so in fact that I don’t ususally use the same bathroom as he does!!

  29. My most dreaded chore is cleaning the bathroom. ICK!!!

    Gorgeous card!!!

  30. Beautiful! Thanks for sharing! …dreaded chore…bathroom…I live in a house with 3 little boys and one big ‘little’ boy! 🙂

  31. Yep, I’d have to say paying the bills is the most dreaded. But right up there with it is ironing and sorting through laundry for 5 people!!

  32. Holy Gorgeous Sherry!!! LOVE this card!!!!!!
