Good Friday morning! It hardly seems that this week should be over and I’m still chasing myself. You know, I might get caught up one day, but I truly doubt it. I need to have about two uninterrupted days in the stamp room. Make that three days. It is such a mess at the moment that I can’t find anything. I still have all these unmounted images all over the place that need to be cataloged and put away. Jeanne will be back this coming Tuesday (we are heading to CHA) and she doesn’t have a place to work right now. Actually that mess has to be cleaned today, because I have Stamp Club tomorrow.

Sydney is still with Kate. I checked in last night and she seems to be doing better, but it’s still too early to bring her home. Well, maybe she is home because she is Kate’s dog. Who knows, Kate may decide to keep Syd after all . . . if she does, I’m sure we’ll be looking at that new pup Mallory is dying for. Oh please . . . one more dog is all I need. But then again, I’m traveling so someone else has to take care of them while I’m gone. They won’t be satisfied until there is a herd of 30 running around!

I had a heads up on today’s SCS Limited Supply Challenge, but just by a few minutes. I did get my card done and uploaded to my SCS Gallery, but didn’t get the blog post written before uploading. I normally do that. Write my blog post and then upload to SCS. It was just too late and I was a little mushy headed. Today’s challenge is to make a card with a summer theme. One of my favorite places is the beach, so I had to make a beach card.

I decided to use one of the new Kittie Kits and break out my reinkers for a change. I painted the water, sand and sky first, laying down a light layer of color. All the images were stamped in brown, and I went over the sea oats with greens. The chair was stamped over the sand in the same color of browns, then painted in darker colors. To add some highlight to the water, I lightly brushed/dabbed on some Tulip Puffy Paint and then heat set it. To finish the card, and because we were limited on layers and no designer paper. Do you think they realize what they are doing to me – no designer paper? Minimum layers? Well, it is a challenge, isn’t it? Anyhoo, to add some interest to the card, I sponged the edges of the layers.

Hope y’all have a great day! I’m moving down to the basement to start picking up. Oh and Carrie if you are reading this, why don’t you come to Stamp Club tomorrow morning?

Hey ya’ll! I thought I was going to get some stamping in today that I could share with you, but alas it just isn’t going to happen. Life is just getting in the way today! I know I haven’t told you, but Sydney is ill and we’ve had to move her to Kate’s for a while. I took her to the vet the other day for her yearly shots and she had a fever. While they were checking her over, they noticed a knot on her back. Apparently while the two pups were playing and rough housing, Syd had sustained a back injury. She had been acting a little funny for a couple of days (hiding behind the furniture and not wanting to play a great deal) but it was her warm nose that made me sit up and take notice Tuesday morning. Luckily we had a vet appointment all ready for that afternoon. The vet put her on meds and told me to keep her calm for a few weeks. That means no jumping, no stairs, no running, etc. Virtually impossible when you have two in the house. So we thought the best thing for Sydney would be to send her to Kate’s so that she could be confined and rest. Here’s the bad part, ELLIOTT IS BESIDE HERSELF! She is so mopey and needy. You can tell she definitely misses Syd being here, and we’ve had to get a stuffed lion to put in her kennel to take Syd’s place. The first night Elle wouldn’t settle down and I finally thought about the lion, which is a little bigger than the pups. I put the lion in the back of the kennel (where Syd would normally go) and Elle went right in, with no more whining. The next morning, Elle had moved the lion up to the front of the kennel so that it was looking out and she was lying on it. Just like both of them would be in the mornings. Hopefully, we’ll have Syd home soon and all of us can get back to our normal routines.

I am going to show you a card I did the other day, but before I do that I need to ask for some help. Rubbernecker has two shows coming up in Colorado, and we need a couple of people to demo at the show. If you are in the vicinity of these shows and can help at either show, please send me an email!!

I used a piece of matte digital imaging paper for this project. I inked the leaves first in Snow Cap pigment ink, pounced with Peeled Paint, and stamped the image. It was embossed with UTEE. I then stamped the white flowers in Snow Cap pigment ink and embossed them. The dragonfly and butterfly were both inked in Snow Cap, rock and rolled in Dried Marigold, stamped and embossed. Using daubers, I began to apply different colors of green ink to the background, wiping away the excess with a rag. Once I had the desired effect, the image and mats were cut out using circle Nestabilities. The background paper was cut to size and the extra scraps were used for the extra layers. The edges of all paper were sponged with Vintage Photo and the edges of the two smaller panels were distressed.

It is a layered delight of bananas, pineapple, cool whip, cream cheese, vanilla pudding all with a graham cracker base.

I went downstairs late last night with an idea for my card today. Needless to say, the minute I turned on the light everything changed. I ended up instead with this tag.

July 9 LAD Tag

The flowers in the background and the butterflies were stamped with a Gold Metallic Paint Dabber, and the different colors of Adirondack inks were wiped over the tags. The excess ink was wiped off with a towel, leaving the gold paint to shine through. The butterflies were cut out, wire added for their anntenae, and then they were raised on mounting tape. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of the second tag. The edges of the main tag and the sentiment were sponged with Dusty Concord Distress Ink.
