Today has started off with a bang – feet hit the floor, have a couple of cups of coffee, take the dog out, and then it’s 7:30 – time to take Kate to work. I need to be paying the bills, doing the laundry, emptying the dishwasher, blah blah blah, but nope, I stamping instead (*BAD* girl that I am)!

I thought I would upload a card I was working on last night. I was playing around with some new Bellas yesterday and needed a little inspiration. Remembering that I bought a sweater recently with just the perfect colors, I pulled it out and matched up some SU colors. Get this . . . Cameo Coral, Pretty in Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Barely Banana. I was in shock, but guess what – they look great together! I’ll have it for you later!!!

Anyhoo, the Color Challenge on Splitcoast today is one I could not pass up. Love these colors and the more I play with black and white, the more if *love* it! There are two different color combinations today, and only having time for one I picked the one with Cool Caribbean, Black and White. I have to say that I really like how this turned out, all except the ribbon. I’ve only redone it about three times and I just don’t think I’m happy yet, but we are going to run with for now!

I used the Cuttlebug Stitched Square embossing folder and embossed in the center of a piece of white cardstock, masked off three sides, and then stamped the flowers from Happy Harmony. I inked the stamp with Cool Caribbean first, wiped off the excess on the stems, and then using a marker colored the stems. Misted just a tad with water and then stamped. Even though I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the sentiment, I was still able to get it a little crooked (hehe)!

I learned something today too! I had all these great designs in my head and the more I worked on them the more frustrated I got. Nothing was right and it just wasn’t working. In the long run, this simple card I really love (well all but the ribbon)! Hope you enjoy it too!

  1. GREAT simple card…very crisp and clean. The ribbon is not bad, but I know what you mean…needs something different. I will leave the ideas up to the pros…

    I LOVE your new banner.

  2. Your simple card is beautiful! I personally like the ribbon, but I know where you’re coming from. Guess that just means you *NEED* to go buy more so you have more options to choose from. *snort*

  3. Looks good, love that set and the cool caribbean, I’ve fallen in love with polka dots ribbon–black w/ white dots–wonder how that would be on your card?

Keep up the great work and inspiration.

  4. pretty, pretty! I would do wide organdy along with what you already have and move the ribbon over a touch!

  5. Ooooooh, I love this color combo, too! It looks so clean and pretty with all the white, and the Caribbean is so crisp and fresh on it. Simple is wonderful sometimes, isn’t it? But it can be so hard to do. You did great!

  6. I LOOOOOVE this!! (I’m really into simple yet elegant lately!!) Great job!! Ribbon~what is it like with NO ribbon? The colors are very eyecatching anyway….maybe it doesn’t “need” the ribbon?! (still looooove it!!)
