Good morning!  Well, it’s still damn cold here and the weather reports predict more snow for tomorrow.   I’m crossing all 10 fingers and 9 toes that the weather holds off because we have tickets to Derby Dinner Playhouse tomorrow night and I really don’t want to fight the weather to get home.  I want my biggest worry of the night to be finding something to fit this big ass of mine.  Quit smoking . . . . an automatic 15 pounds . . . oh joy!  But I suppose it’s better to have clear, smoke-free lungs and worry about the extra weight after the holidays . . . at least that’s what I’m telling myself!

I had a big surprise the other day!  I left a comment on Wendy Vecchi’s blog and lucky me, she decided to give away prizes that day and picked me to receive some goodies!  Stuff like this never happens to me and quite frankly I truly don’t try to win blog giveaways.  I left her a comment because I really, really liked the gift card she posted and just had to  let her know . . .

I received two sets in the mail from Wendy, and I didn’t have either one of them . . .  I was so tickled since I’ve been trying to build up my Studio 490 collection.  Today’s card uses one of the new ones I received, Botanical Art.

I inked up the flower image with Peeled Paint, Fired Brick and a touch of Aged Mahogany Distress Inks, misted with water and then stamped on watercolor paper.  The script over-stamping is the background from Studio 490Live and Make Art, stamped in Antique Linen.

Once I decided on the paper I was using, Kaiser Kraft – Up, Up and Away (from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store), I decided the Peeled Paint was a little off, so I added some sage ink with a watercolor brush.  It’s okay, but I’m sorry I did it.

A little sewing and some Striped May Arts Twill along with my favorite card layout and it was done.  I left the inside blank for now.  A sentiment can be added later when the card is used.

While I was digging for some stuff for this card, I had a brain storm (yes, it hurt) for a simple and easy Christmas card.  Have I done mine yet?  NO!!!!  Now that I have this idea though, I think I might.

One more thing before I go . . . another E-Team mission . . . Tomorrow!  Make sure you join us for this hop . . . its one you don’t want to miss.  Something about brown paper, string, last minute ideas . . . you get the idea, right?

So thanks for stopping by and remember . . . life is short, have great adventures today!

  5. Cold you say??? Well here in BC Canada where we are SUPPOSED to have snow, we have rain! UGH! Although I get what you mean about roads. Congratulations on being smoke-free–now that you can taste things, food is a lot better huh (hee hee). I’ve had several siblings and a dad quit and they all said the same thing:) Now for your card–WOW!! I love that stamp and what you did with it. Thanks for continuing to share your talents with us:)
