Do you ever have one of those days when you really WANT to stamp? You walk into the studio, pull out some stamps – and then five sets later, your garbage can overflowing, and you still don’t have a card! Well today is one of those days for me!

I checked the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast this morning – it’s actually my favorite challenge of all of them, and said out loud to myself . . . “Oh I love this one, easy, can’t wait.” Well yep, I guess I can wait, because this card has literally taken me all morning!

When I finally decided on some stamps that I could work with this morning, I had no idea where I was gonna go with it. I started out with pinks and browns, went to turquoise and pinks (along with some BasicGrey paper) and then turned a full circle and changed everything up. I’ve been in a Rosie kind of mood lately, so I pulled out the Rose Red and Mellow Moss markers, colored my stamp, misted it with water and then stamped it on Whisper White paper. The sentiment is stamped in Rose Red (3rd try on this one and I finally got it right). After looking at the colors and was so impressed with myself that I picked the Rose Red, I decided to go strictly with Rose Red and white. Pulled the Cuttlebug down off the shelf, grabbed my swirl background and went to work. After I found the perfect ribbon (American Crafts), started to assemble the card, I then decided it needed something else and threw on the brads. Mistake probably – since I got carried away with punching holes! In my haste to finish the card, I had a half sheet of watercolor paper sitting on the counter and instead of cutting another piece of white, I grabbed the watercolor paper for the actual card base. Anyhoo, the card is done and now I need to run Kate to school (she has a test today and hates to miss it – even though her mother thinks she needs to be home on the couch).

Always

  3. Unfortunately, this sounds like all of my cards lately! At least you got a beautiful card out of your efforts…mine sits in the scrap pile…ha!

  5. I had one of those days too. Everything I did on my card sketch was wrong, but I ended up liking what I did and then I tried to stamp something else and obviously, my mojo was all used up because I too have a trash can filled with things that didn’t work and I’m not a saver! I just binned them and I’ll start again tomorrow! 🙂

  6. I never have a full garbage can. It’s not because I dont have stinkers-its because I have a recycle bin. If I am totally unhappy with anything , I put it away to take apart later or redo or let my niece play with it. Never throw anything away-just because you think its not worthy doesnt mean others would feel the same and the garbage pit is a little less full too. I have a bucket of half finished, off kilter cards and tags and odd things-the last two swaps I did I used items kulled from them to finish my masterpeices. No one knows but me and it makes me happy to know I contributed to keeping the earth a little bit greener (and it was green cardstock)
