What a gorgeous day it is here today. I’ve been working in the studio most of the morning, but have nothing that I can show you. Sorry – you’ll get to see it later, but only if you are SCS Fan Club Members. I didn’t want to leave you without a picture or two today though. I took the puppy out earlier this afternoon for a little frolic and couldn’t resist getting my camera.

First off, the Columbine are in bloom now. These are the wild ones I dug up from the river many years ago that just keep multiplying.

The Hostas and Astilbe are doing well and the Sedum is looking terrific. The Sedum is planted in one of my grandmothers concrete planters that always sat on the front porch when I was a little girl.

Sydney loves to frolic in the landscaping along the front walk and if she is in a playful mood, she lies in wait for you to walk by and then pounce on your feet. Here she is waiting for me to go by.

Well, I’m off to the tennis match and then a quick trip home to change and back up to school for Honor Society Induction tonight. Oh the joys of having a graduating senior.

  1. What a beautiful garden you have! And the puppy is just darling.
Can’t wait to see what you cooking up for the DD Gallery.

  2. my dog peed all over my hostas. I have two of maybe 30 left. Nothing but muddy soil left that stinks! I had planted them 5 years ago and my Clancy never touched them but I got Marley last summer and he decided it was his personal job to pee on them. Nothing deters him either. Got that granular stuff and he still goes on them. And now he thinks the herb garden is his bed!

SO much work to do now. And I need something pee will help thrive. Help!!!!!

  3. What a gorgeous garden you have! All those luscious greens! I especially love those Wild Columbine (if you can remember, would you be willing to part with some seeds?)! I have some Columbine seeds that I can share with you as well (I have a very pretty pink bell shaped Nora Barlow Columbine as well as your traditional Rocky Mountain Columbine growing in my CO garden).

Your puppy is just adorable too!

  4. Oooh, love the purple columbine! I just planted a little yellow one in my garden this weekend, but sure wish I had a wild purple one available instead! 🙂 Thanks for sharing your lovely garden, love it!

  5. Gorgeous garden! Since we moved I’ve got to start mine all over again…I need to go home and pull some plants for transplant but havent’ gotten around to it. Can’t wait to see what you are cooking up for the gallery this month!

  6. Well, I suppose you know your lush and gorgeous garden is near and dear to my heart! Thank you for sharing these photos! Your puppy is so adorable. What a cute picture of him peeking out of the sedum! The blue columbine are the only ones the deer don’t touch in my garden. Funny how they leave the native plants alone. I guess they come to the garden for exotic dining and turn their noses up at the stuff they can get out in the woods.
