Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a good weekend and the time change didn’t mess you up too bad. I was a little tired last night around 10:00 but got up more refreshed this morning than yesterday. It always takes me a few days to adjust to these time changes. After a lot of coffee yesterday and a nap, I did find some time to get into the studio and stamp a bit. I have to admit that I’m getting in the Holiday mood finally, and need to get started on some cards.

I’ve had Floral Frenzy from Lizzie Anne Designs sitting out on my counter for a few days, and when I did a double-take of it yesterday, it occurred to me that one of the floral images could make a nice poinsettia. I think it worked, and really am quite pleased with the outcome. The card is 5.5 square.

Floral Frenzy Poinsettias

The image was stamped out 6 times, colored with Copic Markers, and then trimmed out. Relying on my standby sketch, I picked some BasicGrey Figgy paper (that you can find here), to work with and then picked my cardstock. The Always Artichoke panel was stamped with one of the swirls from So Swirly in Always Artichoke ink and the edges of all the panels were sponged with distress ink. The individual BasicGrey panels were then sewn onto the back panel, brads and ribbon were added before adhering to the actual card. The sentiment panel is another sheet of the BasicGrey that was stamped with the same swirl by using the distress ink, stamping off once and then stamping on the panel. The edges were distressed with my trusty scissors, edges sponged and the sentiment stamped. This panel and the flowers were then mounted on the card using mounting tape.
